Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

I don't get the "wow there's low activity today let's do <thing that has been done a thousand times>", let the activity in the thread flow naturally.
I honestly do not get the hyraxes popularity at all.
Like they are an okay addition, but if we talk about small mountain rodent like things, why not directly take one of the two cute ogs from south america with the chinchilla and guinea pig?
All three would fill pretty much the exact same niche of small rock dwelling rodent likes, but 2 of the 3 are from south america and double as domestic animals aswell, with the chinchilla even being endangerd. Theyd pair nicly with the lama both in petting zoos and anden themed areas and would just generally bring more to the game for the same estimated development cost, while also making likly lots more people happy as they are not just pets but also cuter and from SA.

also hyrax slander, shame.

Hyraxes are really interesting animals as they are a primitive lineage of afrotheres (the group of elephants and manatees) and have a lot of little quirky features that are quite interesting.

That said I personally would prefer the Alpine marmot cuz european animel and chonky, but I wouldn't mind if the pack has a hyrax instead, they are potato rocksies

I know that modders found more folders were added for additional DLC at some point, which indicated we knew more were coming. Does anyone know if more folders have been added now in recent updates or if we just have folders up to Winter DLC?

I know that a mountain pack could be amazing but i fear that frontier will drop the ball on it like they did with arid and tropical and just do something lame
Agree.
They can do chad pack featuring animals such as tree kangaroo, mantled guereza, finally SA bird, chamaleon and idk even north luzon cloud rat (lol) together with generic generic cold rock dwellers, but what we are getting is as you said healthy amount of additional ungulates&carnivorans:5 with exhibit so obscure every single person would need to google it first to acknowledege its existence.

They removed the extra folders after the Oceania pack update, it was prolly an oversight so I doubt we will see them again in a while (last time it happened was like a whole year ago). And for the record you don't have to be a modder to check the game folders, anyone can check the folders where the game is installed.

Wait, is this sooner than normal. This felt really fast. So does this mean we may see a teaser/ trailer around Thanksgiving? Would make sense for an early December release. Try to catch Christmas sales.

Being around Christmas is the only reason I think there is a chance for a bird pack. It could be considered something big enough to drive holiday sales. And everyone from the forum, to steam, to Reddit, and more have been asking for birds.

But it is way more likely to be Mountains or some sort of cold pack.

Since the new DLC is coming so quickly, I think there is a possibility that the animals this time are probably simple changes to the models of some previous animals. There will likely be no, or relatively few, new "animals" and new "animations".
Not the case usually, grasslands from last year introduced the maned wolf, emu and other animals of great detail, and new animations. We don't know how frontier does it but the shorter time span doesn't mean a worse quality dlc.

Doubtful, animals are not made between those DLC 3 months periods, they are working on them as long as year in advance. This is just the language depot and the time between lqa file update and announecement varies alot. It can be 14 days or even a month. It indicates nothing else than that they probably finished the translation of the next DLC into all supported languages. We are right on time.

I think the guys are right. This DLC may be completed very early. They are just updating it as scheduled. In fact, my demand is very simple. Give me some ungulates and carnivores that can adapt to cold climates. It's better to have primates and birds, but it's just as well not to have them.
