Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

True, but it's not Planet United States Zoo, it's Planet Zoo, and should be more representative of zoos as a whole. That will lead to a mixed situation with partial realism with zoos around the world - which is a good thing IMO. FWIW I'm also in the US and haven't seen many deer in zoos at all. It doesn't negate the fact that they're in zoos across the world.
Yeah, imma be honest, I've only seen 1 deer at a zoo: white-tailed deer, and it was only one time because next visit it was gone.
However, I do love deer, way more than antelopes, so in my perfect Planet Zoo, I'd want as many deer as antelopes 🤣

That makes me realise the only deer species I've seen in North American zoos are moose and maybe the white tailed deer on the rare occasion. Yet my local zoo features moose, red deer, bukhara deer, reindeer and white lipped deer

@jcp011c I understand what your saying but the fact is we’ve still probably got a couple dlcs left. Lets say a year for good measure. Could be more more could be less. With those slots left which aren’t many tbh would a deer be a good candidate? Sure. 2? Perhaps. 3-5 that maybe pushing it with all the diversity of animals in general missing in planet zoo.

I have seen all kinds of deer in European zoos, very often Asian ones. Axis Deer, Barasinga, Pere Davids Deer, Hog Deer, Reeves Muntjac... I would not nesseccery want all of those, but at least 1 deer species from Asia would be nice (of course I would vote for the Reeves Muntjac, my beloved as it is really tiny and unique).
Same, muntjac ftw!!! I really hope they add it for a forest pack or something.

Muntjac and Reindeer are I think the only ones I’ve seen in general zoos. There is one near me with a deer forest that I think has fallow deer that you can walk through and feed, and that same zoo has a train ride through an Elk/Wapiti habitat.

I’d say that the more low-budget zoos have more deer here.

Between the Bronx Zoo, San Diego, and my local zoos I've seen quite a few deer over the years from NA, Europe, and Asia. But yeah... Probably not all that common in the US in contrast to other species.

Hah! My cousin got married in that deer forest. That was kinda neat. Less neat was the fact that during the reception they had the skyfari thing open for an hour or so that we were free to use and somebody dropped their cell phone into the alligator habitat... 😐

For Europe I agree the wild boar is good but honestly I don't care about it all that much, the peccary is the only suid left that I really needed.
North America: Musk ox indeed
Asia: Reeve's muntjac definitely but also Markhor, Blackbuck and Takin. Even the yak...
Africa: Kirk's dikdik and giant eland
South America: there are no south american ungulates left that I care about, non-extinct ones that is! :p
Oceania: Oceania literally has no native ungulates why would people ask for any from here .-.
I would sign this even if I would Not Care to get more than that. I would perhaps add the Pudu for South America and the Gerenuk but all in all your list includes the Most important ungulates for me.

Honestly, even though whoever dropped the phone was frustrated, that sounds awesome.

Imagine telling your friends: I went to a wedding at a zoo and dropped my phone in the gator pool.

You'd be epic and win over any stories at any party🤣

Or if I really wanted to see some deer I could take a trip to the Scottish deer centre which has:
  • Axis Deer
  • Barasingha Deer
  • Bukhara Deer
  • Moose
  • Fallow Deer
  • Hog Deer
  • Pere David Deer
  • Red Deer
  • Reeves Muntjac
  • Sika Deer
  • Reindeer
  • North American Elk
  • White Lipped Deer
In the city where I live, the city's zoo once kept 9 species of deer, many of which are the same as your list. They are sambar,sika,PD,hog,elk,fallow,white-lipped,tufted and reeve`s muntjac.
