Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

I think, at this point, everyone understands you would not like to see a Domestic DLC. Fair and understandable! To each their own, no problem.

It's okay to say your opinion, but could you please stop calling domestic animals "accessories" and further objectify them? For some of us, domestic animals (including farm animals) are darlings, part of a family, and worthy of loving. Not accessories, side dishes (?), or things like that. Maybe not the main stars of the zoo, but does it matter? Perhaps an ostrich is also not the main star of the zoo either, so what? You can still like to have it in the game because it fits in.

And saying we should switch to a farm game to see those animals in the game is weird. I wouldn't say I like to farm anything. I like seeing animals playing with enrichment items and having fun.

If you are willing to share your thoughts I would like to know if you dislike domestic animals in general OR the domestication process. Do you perceive domestication as a purely negative phenomenon?
My point of view, simply put, is this:
1. Let me emphasize it again. The reason I'm lukewarm on the livestock DLC is because they weren't that important until the lack of representative species in many areas. As I've always said before, I don't think livestock DLC is a good choice until areas lacking representative species get supplements.
2. My opinion on domestic animals is really not about whether I like them or not. I think that when humans adapt to nature and want to obtain better living conditions, domesticating animals is doomed. Just like we need to supplement protein to live, for most people, animal protein is the best solution. Because we don’t have enough money like many celebrities, we can hire a nutritionist to customize a recipe that can completely avoid animal foods, but still get enough protein. The essence of human beings in domesticating animals is actually for themselves. This is undisputed. Therefore, the most fundamental purpose of all domesticated animals is to serve humans. We are currently passing legislation and publicity to let people know that these animals have contributed to us and they deserve better treatment, etc., which is good. But from a "fundamental" perspective, domestic animals were born on this planet because of human needs. Whether we like it or not, this is a doomed thing, just like we know that fossil fuels will pollute the environment, but until something better replaces it, we often have to choose it. It’s not that we like it or not, but that’s the only way we can do it. To be honest, many things are really not like or dislike.
3. Regarding livestock, what I want to say is that the many types of livestock we have today are actually basically human needs, not natural selection. In other words, without human intervention, many domestic animals would not exist. For example, in this process, in order to continue the characteristics of some domestic animals that are more beneficial to humans, we often choose inbreeding. Just like the head-to-body ratio of wild boars is hugely different from that of any breed of domestic pigs. All of this is man-made. In nature, inbreeding is avoided by most animals unless the species is at risk of extinction. The same is true in the conservation process of zoos. Major zoo organizations ensure their genetic diversity as much as possible through species coordination. For example, in the past, many zoos would choose inbreeding for some traits that people liked, such as white tigers. But this kind of behavior is classified as "unwelcome behavior" by many organizations today and is strongly avoided. This is where progress lies. Judging from this example, the conservation work of animals in zoos is essentially different from the artificial selection of domestic animals.
4. Please let me emphasize it again. The reason why I am lukewarm about having livestock packs is because there is still a lack of representation in many areas where the priority is higher than livestock.

How is it riskier then the arid pack?
Or the twillight pack?
Or the europe pack?
Europe or Twilight we're Just Normal Scenery Packs with wild animals as every other Pack before and after. A Petting Zoo Pack would be much more Specialized and there are surely people which could and would skip a Pack Just with domesticated animals. The probability is Just Higher that this Pack could Fail and I repeat that I Just do Not think Frontier will do such a financially risky Pack at this Stage of the Game. You can defend this Packs as you want. This is Just the thing I think about the likelihood and Not my Personal perspective on such a Pack. And in my opinion this Tends towards 0

But it’s not really that different. We get 5 new animals in a domestic pack that are new animals as usual, a bunch of new scenery for barns and petting zoo stuff, and in the free update we get a couple new features like feeding and petting. How would this be any different from twilight?

I don’t think the twilight was split because of the raccoon, fox, and skunk at all. Great animals it’s just for the US crowd anyway the three NA animals are not generally going to create a big buzz as all three are commonly found in peoples backyard. Same could be said about white tailed deer and turkeys. I think it’s like a urban pack honestly. Your either going to love it or hate it.

All the NA animals from twilight are still quite popular with the european crowd, raccoons are present in tons of zoos over here.

Should a petting zoo pack be scenery or animal pack btw?

I heavily think it’ll be a scenery pack if we ever get one cause it can give us a carousel building set and playground building sets just like how we got bridge sets in Europe or the ships and food trucks.
Yeah same. If you want to build a petting zoo you need this stuff, but also hay balea, maybe an old tractor prob and stuff like that

There are people which Just do Not want a Pack just with domesticated animals. That is the difference.

I suddenly realized that many people may not want this dlc, but a new mechanism for tourists to interact with animals (such as feeding behavior). So I have a new question, do they prefer to feed giraffes or goats?

Scenery, that would make it worthwhile for even those that do not care for domestic animals. We also dont need tons of them, just a few is all thats needed.
Goat, second ungulate, rodent, literally anything else and thats allready golden
