Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

I'll try to start another discussion that has not been repeated that much 😅.
What pack, in your opinion, would make old and new players being so much interesed on it? Like for example, the aquatic Pack.
It's December and it means holidays, and it mean only one thing, that are the gifts. What would be the most interesting dlc for you that the community would freak out? 👀
Flying birds or aquatic

New and Old? Well anything that adds new gameplay, that is the biggest cause of players leaving the game. Lots of new animals and scenery pieces but it's all the same gameplay no matter how good the animals look. Naturally new gameplay (in theory) comes with proper aviaries not restricted to the walkthrough exhibit - very unlikely to ever happen, same with aquariums and fully marine animals like introducing manatees, dolphins, whales, sharks, and fish.

Anything else though, it's a thin line between new gameplay features and the exact same dlc we have been receiving for say 2-3 years straight.

If we're still on NA, I mentioned the ABB as high profile and the Wolverine as popular but not solely NA. Still, I'll include it.

We don't need a NA focused animal pack again since we already had one. Scenery would work.

Woodlands Scenery pack: Log Cabin building theme.

Wolverine
American Black Bear
Wild/Domesticated Turkey
Elk (Wapiti in Europe) - really like the suggestion of it over the White Tailed Deer
Flying Squirrel (either Northern or Southern species) - WTE

Other somewhat potential candidates include the North American Porcupine, Walrus, Muskox, North American River Otter, Coyote, Black Footed Ferret, Rocky Mountain Goat, Bighorn Sheep and Canadian Lynx. And more habitat appropriate birds like the Greater Roadrunner, Roseate Spoonbill, White American Pelican, and several species of Goose. I'm just feeling like the five I picked seem either a bit less likely to make it into the game.

Not to mention the Central American animals that happen to extend to the southern part of North America like the White Nosed Coati and Ocelot, though I'd prefer them in a dedicated Latin/Central American pack.

Other potential themes that may change up the animals are the American Wild West or Native American type of themes.

Either way, there's actually enough picks to make 2 scenery and 1 animal pack listed right here. I just don't think we'll get more than one Stealth North American pack, as well as a dedicated Latin/Central American pack.

Birds and aquatics are the obvious. Less obvious would exhibit overhaul, more animal interactions, animal personalities (different individuals have slightly different habitat needs), or a modular playground kit.

Nothing besides fully aquatics and aviarys will most likly bring back the majority of players who hopped of the planet zoo train that wouldnt come back on their own.
For things that would give the community a heart attack besides those 2, a petting zoo or south america pack would most likly take the cake, with the former most likly being one of the packs with the strongest reactions to it, both negative and posetive with the posetive vastly outnumbering the negative and the ladder being the one and only thing everyone in this community seems to agree on.

While I agree that a Latin America Pack will have normal or even more selling numbers I still think that a Petting Zoo Pack has the Problem with the negative Views. And the positive View of the other Side cannot compensate people not buying such a pack. Financial aspects are the Most important for a company and I think there is no possible benefit for Frontier to make a Petting Zoo Pack compared to the potential financial risk. At least at the late Game Stage we are now. Same goes for fully aquatics by the way. The only Pack which could be worth to do would be a aviaries Pack but only If there is free Flying and I think this does not happen due to technical restrictions.

A petting zoo pack is no more risk than going all out and making a niche oceania pack.

A petting zoo pack can be a succes I think. But frontier needs to choose the animals wisely. They can add goats and rabbits for example. But they should also add animals that would please the anti-domestic crowd. I think of ducks and other birds for example (flying or non flying)

That's kinda what the domestic crowd wants aswell, we dont want a pack full of just cows, goats, sheep and horses. Other animals like ducks, geese, chickens, rabbits and even children zoo animals such as the squirrel monkey or coati would complement traditional petting zoo animals nicely.

Honestly feel like a fully marine animal pack would bring back more players than an avian pack, but on here I sort of feel like the want for birds is (very) slightly more desired than a marine pack. But probably marine on most places. That may be a call back to the Zoo Tycoon series with its Marine packs, and the fact that no zoo game has really spent a lot of time on smaller, flying birds.

Honestly the reason I was so hoping for flying birds until recently is because it hasn't really been explored in zoos games that far, at least not too deeply. And to me Planet Zoo is the best zoo simulator of all time now, so why wouldn't I want it to include something that no other game has done too much with before? It's the place I'd want it most. I can't believe a year ago I was convinced it was coming and now am 99% positive it wont.

11 days to go until we should get an announcement! 🤩
Still feels like the Oceania Pack came out yesterday.
I'd be cautious about pinning down a specific day right now. We may get the announcement 11 days from now, but it could also be anywhere from Nov 27th (if the pack is very early on the 5th, though unlikely I think) to December 12 (if the pack is released on the 19th and is a scenery pack). I can't see a new update/feature/pack announcement before Nov. 27th and after Dec.12th But yeah, anywhere from a little over a week to a little more than 3 weeks.
