Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

There's still a couple of spaces left in that animal pack

I think they would have given us a hint if it's really an animal pack. I mean, okay, the screenshots of the gift shop didn't contain any new building pieces, so of course, it could be. But still... I'm down right now.

Some things to say

1) Even in animal packs, they don't reveal all 7 habitat animals
2) At the end of the day, Frontier can't please everyone. It's ok if this isn't your expectation but don't spoil the mood of this thread
3) I'll take a Takin and Sloth Bear gladly
It's just their teasing with the studio decoration was not at all linked with what they next shown, so it's disappointing

For some saiga appreciation, its really not that bad.
There is a thriving captive population and there are plans to expand them into multiple zoos across eastern europe and unlike other face palm additions they are unique in more then looks, as their natural habitat, the central asian steppe, only really has 3 animals iconic to it, with the other 2 allready in the game so getting the third is quite neat.
No other animals could have filled that role so the saiga really didnt steal anyones slot as no other animal is similar to them but a better choice.

Of the 6 antelopes added in dlc, theyd defenetly would bring the most to the game, so im honestly quite content with them

Hmm...what bothers me is why do Asian animals receive so much hostility?
They aren’t receiving hostility, it’s so far like the arid pack situation. The animals are all wonderful and deserve to be in game. The pack has the problem of animal diversity. So far we got two more animals from Carnivora and two more ungulates, which while they are much loved animals, that doesn’t interest me personally as much. Now let’s say they announce the pack tomorrow and we also get a bird or two, and maybe a monkey, then the pack will be balanced out and I will love it! A pack of four mammals on its own just doesn’t interest me much.

I guess you can bury that hope. They would have given some hints if that'd be the case.
What hint's are you looking for? Grassland and NA only hint one animal of the pack, wetland hinted capy and caiman, arid hinted 5 animals with sand sculpture while oceania also hinted all five animals, there's zero evidences this will be a acenery pack, mainly because there's zero scenery hints unlike tropical and oceania, so this sill likely be a animal pack.

I'm like 99% sure it's an animal pack.

Arid pack teased 4 animals as well, we weren't teased new scenery lime tropical pack, and it would go against the pattern.

Note that Twilight only switched places with Grassland, we still got 2 scenery and 2 animal packs then.

Best case for the rest of this pack is raccoon dog, and some combination of Pallas's cat, lion-tailed macaque, and golden pheasant.

So it's probably going to be that god damn monkey and I don't even know what else.

If Frontier insists on an antelope, the blackbuck and nilgai would have been straightforwardly better picks--more captive presence, and the sloth bear shows that India is on the table for this pack.
