Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

Could we get Anteaters and other animals with updated carry animation in a free update?
That is my hope

Ok my thoughts on the animals if they are what we thought we are

Takin: love it. In my wishlist
Sloth bear: was the bear i wanted most. Not mad about it not being spectacled bear because i think will be included in LAM pack.
Wolverine: is alright. Most wanted animal for the community for a long time. I just don't personally find it very exciting but yes important.
Saiga: ... Like why? Just because it looks weird and is endangered. Bye bye chance for blackbuck to ever make it into the game. I'm sad.

Wanna site your sources that it's in "many zoos"? Cause all I'm finding is that it's currently kept in 2 zoos and used to be kept in a handful more. It seems like they don't do well in captivity
They seem to be kept in china and atleast planned to be kept in more eastern european zoos and in china.
Also one of those 2 zoos has hundreds of them, their captive population is actually far larger then more popular animals like takins or the sloth bear

The only way an Asia Pack lineup could redeem itself for me would be in this way:

• Sichuan Takin
• Markhor
• Wolverine
• Sloth Bear
• Lion Tailed Macaque
• Saiga
• Domestic Yak

Honestly, of all the themes I expected, Asia one has me the least excited. It’s already well over represented. We need ‘EURasia’, not just ‘MORE Asia’
Two of those animals are Eurasian though

I am still leaning hard on this being a more general Adaptations/Evolution pack rather than being specific to Eurasia or whatever. One thing that's been consistent in these streams is that things around the hosts point toward the pack theme...
  1. There is a map of the world on the wall.
  2. One of the books of the table is "Origin of the Species" by Charles Darwin.
  3. The wolverine is not exclusive to Asia.
So what we've seen thus far is 3/4 of animals are likely Asian with one having broader distribution. It's possible that the remaining three habitat species (and potentially the exhibit species) are from North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and/or Oceania.

For a community so obsessed with hints/clues... It's odd that folks are completely ignoring two very obvious ones.

Obviously, I could be wrong but it just feels odd to put that book right there and for them to highlight the different adaptations each of the animals has throughout the stream and for that to not be the case.
Good points. They did keep mentioning special adaptations didn't they? That was definitely the focus
  • The saiga's horns and nose
  • The takin's spindly legs
  • The wolverine's thick fur and climbing ability
  • The sloth bear's large claws, used like utensils and for digging, and carrying their babies

I wonder what else would fit with that theme?

Yeah because Oceania was 🙈🤯
Oceania gave a region two of its most essential animals that had pretty much no alternatives? Not sure why you're trying to start something with me. I'm fine with these animals, its got nothing to do with what region they're from. I can even live with the saiga (I don't know much about its captive presence and I'm happy for those who wanted it), but as far as I know its not essential for the region in the same way as the kiwi (its pretty much impossible to build a NZ zoo without it) - from what I'm hearing its pretty rare within its range. Chill out, if you like it that's fine. I have no issue with that.

while i agree that europe needs some more animals i dont think asia is over represented. The only part of asia that is nicely covered is south east asia, the himalayas, central asia and india are still rather empty imo

hoping to get instead of the Sloth Bear it's the Tamandua because i want them so much and they are more usable for me than the sloth bear, like the sloth bear is super cute but not my most wanted animal

but takin would make me VERY happy!

I see People mentioning sloth bear. Does it eat termites?
