Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

Yeah thats always my main thought aswell. Planet zoo doesnt have a realistic animal roster for a zoo anyways, so why is the occasional rare in captivity animals such a big deal?
I prefer the weirder animals to the common ones they stand out more and make the pack and game feel unique

2 thirds of an average zoo collection is already present in the game, I only have to rely on an average of 20 mods to fill the gaps for my recreation projects.

Finally weighing in on the animal choices so far:

Takin - It's been my most wanted animal since the base game, it's my favorite animal IRL! This is the best animal of the pack!! (If it's the Wisent, Imma riot!)
Wolverine - Another animal that Iv'e been wanting for quite some time, so I'm really happy for it
Saiga - I actually quite like this pick. Even though it has almost no presence in captivity, I absolutely love the Saiga and cannot wait to see what Frontier does with them.
Sloth Bear - A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. One of my favorite bear species, so I'm glad to it make it into the game.

I'm really liking this pack so far, can't wait to see what the other animals will be!

But it’s not just occasional this time, both sloth bear and Saiga aren’t realistic, and if we get snub nosed monkey that’s 3. That’s a bit too much for me personally.
Sorry, but the sloth bear is just uncommon, but not unrealistic. Zootierliste lists 8 zoos, so it's assumable that there are even more. Saiga is only in two on Zootierliste.
Unrealistic are those that don't do well in captivity.

The pack is basically a palete of browns so far. A golden pheasant or a mandarin duck could save this.

Or you know who :D

TBH none of the animals teased seem to be in the complexity level of the porcupine or any other more unique animals so makes me wonder if they are hiding something. Maybe we will finally get our first waterfowl.

Saiga has a pretty great conservation record, and is very visually unique as an antelope. It's not in a lot of zoos but I really don't think frontier pits much stock in that
It seems to be in consideration...sometimes? The whole Grasslands Animal Pack felt like a nod in that direction, especially the wallaby and emu.

I am so keen to see this fuzzball, it's so fluffy! It stands out to me because of that

Idk if i look at Zootierlistes Top 25 common zoo animals we got 9 of them ingame, alot of them rather recently also.
That is about a 3rd
Well yeah but most of the most common animals in the captivity are either birds (we know the situation in that front) or boring ungulates. So is better this way i guess lol

I think the Sloth Bear wasn’t the best choice, but an acceptable one. It’ certainly not as absent as the Saiga, and was actually kept in a zoo near me (Capron) but seems to have been traded to the National Zoo, (where I also saw them)
