Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

Couldn't we say both reworks and colormorphs are realistic suggestions for updates? Of course not every update like the colormorphs but reworks were always deemed impossible for the free update as we never got them before but that's changed, it happened once it can happen again. But then probably reworks were never likely to happen until the saiga development happened. Could of been a developer noticing how similar the nose of the saiga was to the malayan tapir paired with the community's never ending desire for a true tapir to bring the first rework.
The malayan tapir is a DLC animal, something that customers paid for and were unsatisfied. So by doing this, Frontier delivered to those who paid for this remodeling, to be actually remodelled. It's a not a free update, unless they start doing it for basegame animals, which I could see coming in a type of "deluxe pack" where you pay extra for 20 animals to be remodelled.

Well I don't know about you but I paid for the base game so every base game animal is still an animal I paid for. Especially the lion as the cover art animal that possibly lured everyone into looking at the game and we get a cartoony male lion.

I'm calling it now but the Malayan tapir remake is just a one-time thing because seriously speaking, the situation with that animal was really pathetic being literally a Baird's tapir with a different base fur texture. They are definitely not going to remake any of the base game animals, because even if they are way worse than DLC ones, they aren't literal clones. I would really love to get an official remastered lion, tiger, or even elephant, but as it stands they don't really have any legit reason to do so, people aren't gonna stop playing the game because the lion is not photorealistic.

It is so obvious that it is gonna be a Latin America scenery pack that I'm getting to a point that it has to be something else. Like every other previous DLC was not the theme that was most speculated in this thread.

So the current ideas floating around for the next pack are:
  • Latin/Central America Scenery Pack
  • Some sort of sequel North America Scenery Pack (Boreal, Coastal, etc)
  • Mountains Scenery Pack
Any others?
Seems about right.

Latin/Central/South America is probably the most overall "need" when it comes to terrestrial animals, but it should be an animal pack. Could they flip and do 2 animal packs back to back, yes...but I also agree it's possible they'll do a Boreal/Woodlands type of pack as you say, representing a revisit to North America.

Mountains is possible as well of course, I would say it "feels" like it would be a more fall or winter type of release, but so would a boreal pack. I want to just throw out the entire idea of seasonal related pack - but looking at it this way - and these seasons are all for what would be Northern Hemisphere seasons - Twilight matched fall, Tropical matched spring, Arid matched Summer, and Oceania matched fall by it being a temperate pack. Eurasia is all over the place with just one animal that's set more for colder weather, it's alos go tropical and grasslands as well, so it would have been a good set for any season. Grasslands definitely didn't match the seasons. Still, that's 4 of the last 6 packs that have some corelationa to season and theme.

I really hope they just flip the SP/AP pattern and the spring pack will be the Latin American animal pack.
