Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

Surprisingly not all that affected by the console tease, maybe because we essentially knew it was coming already. We'll see what they actually say about content on Wednesday. Still feel like we could get two more packs.

I've never been a console player for any game, but I'm somewhat envious that the console players will know what will be coming to them from the very beginning, they just know they have to wait for it. But they can go ahead and plan out their zoos accordingly.

I think folks just need to take a beat and recalibrate expectations with the end very likely in sight... And then we'll all return to our regularly scheduled predictions about the (very likely but not definitely so quite yet) final pack and what it'll entail.

And, TBH, I fully expect the "speculation community" to simply evolve from DLC discussion and split into new groups: (1) what we'd want to see in a sequel, and (2) focusing on/discussing mods. The latter will have to take place elsewhere unless the rules change but... It'll happen in some way, shape, or form. Either way it'll keep people interested in the game!
Clearly I'm going full mods once the support ends. I'm more and more optimistic that we will have incredible mods in the near future. I'm so impressed by the work that has already been done.

I know the console edition is gonna be horrible to play because Planet Zoo wasn't conceived for consoles, that said if console players now can get to play Planet Zoo I couldn't get happier for them! :)

I'm gonna make some bold! (sarcasm) assumptions:
1. preorder bonus is gonna be some lame ugly looking outfit
2. both console and pc players get a new animal as celebration for the console release (most unlikely thing by far)
3. a total number of 0 (zero, cero, nul) remasters, sorry lion fans.
4. franchise trademarket compatibility

Me too. I am actually quite excited. The selection of mods is huge already, I can only imagine what it will be like a year from now. I remember using my first mod, it was a jaguar, it was a replacement mod (before the SA pack came out, obviously).
What I love about mods, is the variety they offer. You can go as niche as you want, or really expand the already existing areas. I just wonder if eventually we'll be able to have some sort of challenges or custom scenarios. I haven't even finished the official scenarios, but that's because they didn't quite grab my attention. I remember the ones in Zoo Tycoon (2), and they were so much more fun.

I do hope we get the tool kit for PZ as well! DLCs might be ending, but there are certainly other exciting things ahead for PZ, in my opinion. ;)

It looks like console support is confirmed, pretty exciting for console players! It would be amazing if they release a new animal to celebrate PZ console edition...

Something like Blackbuck or Serval would be great, maybe Delxue Edition Pack 2?

or African Forest Buffalo

Is nobody going to speculate about the keepers not wearing their hats in that console teaser?
This and also is this the traditional keeper hut? I'm at work so I can't check the game right now but I feel like some objects are placed differently and the meat is missing? I'm not sure but.... Could my wildest dream of getting the facilities items as individual scenery pieces come true? Probably not but if that would be the case, I would be over the moon.

Looks like a slightly modified large keeper hut, I wouldn't think of much of it as the planet coaster console reveal also had a heavily detailed interior not in game.

Maybe we get the American Flamingo as the console celebration animal, I think it would be fair. It wouldn’t take a slot in the upcoming dlc, and would be a welcomed bonus to base game.

Not even an additional new animal would make me buy the console version. Definitely not worth the hassle of playing this game, you know, on a console.
What do you mean? I would love spending hours trying to use the pathing system using a controller. I would love spending hours using 40 buttons to rotate a piece of scenery.

I don’t have a console with me, but if I didn’t entirely invest in the PC I could see myself getting it. A console is more powerful than my PC at the moment, and it would be cheaper to get a new console than an actual working gaming computer (also I have to travel a lot so I need a portable system).

So lets say something like an american flamingo is used to lure pc players to console, yes I would love to lose my main set of controls for an annoying controller that occasionally may stick-drift at times trying to move a scenery item very VERY carefully, sounds like a dream honestly.

Good thing you are not the target audience for the console version, console players that do not have Planet Zoo are :)
Frontier is interested in expanding the playerbase, not in making pc players buy the console version (that's stupid no matter how you look at it)

And again, console version is not getting exclusive animals, you guys really should stop making up scenarios to get mad at lol

I’ll have you know this is my favorite pastime. Can’t be let down if you can predict every single thing going wrong lmao
Interestingly why no one considers that it's just what it is, a console port, and therefore it has no exclusive content? It's literally how Jurassic World Evolution 2 is... Seems like people only like to think planet zoo is like JWE when it's convenient for their personal wishes 🤣 🤣

Oh yeah that’s what I’m hoping, and what it will most likely be. Considering how much people have been wanting it to come to console, I doubt Frontier even has to do something special to get people to buy it. JWE2 does have the benefit of being a name brand game though, and it was always planned to be on console and PC.

I’m actually curious how they are gonna do the button layout. And how it will play on console.
