Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

I dont know, but thinking that there is only one last DLC left, makes me really sad and disappointed.
The game still has so much potential, especially because of the Walkthrough Exhibits (the base game still does not even have one animal that can use them) and the lately introduced Swan which opens the door for at least some waterfowl.
On top the big lack of South American animals, monkeys in general, small deer and hoofstock, safari or mountain animals, petting zoo animals, some unique exhibit animals like chameleon or geckos or a cobra...the list could go on and bring us at least 4 more decent and useful DLCs that I am sure Frontier could make a lot of profit with.
I dont really get why they decided to end the official support.
Is there any hope we will get at least more than one last DLC? Maybe support until the next birthday of the game?
I dont really wanna think about what the last DLC would be cause the game will forever feel incomplete to me. I just hope for the coati...

Looking at the twitter responses within this short period of time it's clearly looki g likea good financial move from frontier. I don't remember the last post that had so much engagement. And the posts from Planet Zoo for the last few months were 'console when' so I hope it all goes well for Frontier

Honestly same. My exact feelings down to hoping for the coati lol

There is atleast one more confirmed dlc. And as i said before this would be confusing:

'Hey guys console is coming'
'Hey guys we have a new DLC for PC only'
'Hey guys console is out! But the dlc we advertised earlier is PC only so you cant play it yet'

This leads me to believe we will get the console edition soon, then multiplatform dlc.

This keeps it open for future multiplatform dlc.

The only thing we can compare with is coaster to console (sample size of 1) and those were different circumstances- it was their first console port and they waited until development finished.

That would be nice but idk, why wouldn't say that in their financial report?

All we know is console is coming within the next few months and Planet zoo has atleast another confirmed DLC.

The puzzle is how this works with timing really.

Hopefully by Wednesday we get a release date for console.

If console it coming in May (end of financial year) the next DLC is probably in March and then that might be it

IF console is coming in March, the DLC can either be multiplatform or bundled on all platforms with the console release, or a bit later

Either way, if Frontier get a massive boost i hope they add more stuff. For me personally no zoo is complete without some flying parrots etc

Wait why should the DLC be PC only?
Id assume when console releases all DLC will be available alongside it

I'm saying that if the DLC comes before the console release then it might be a while before it comes to console. Also Frontier for coaster released the DLC slowly over time for console.

It all depends when the console version is coming out I guess.

But the last DLC for pc could be released as the first for console. Then they could release the old DLCs later. They don't really have to follow chronological order. Besides from those with career scenarios maybe.

Yeah that's true. I don't really see the Arctic pack coming anytime other than the holiday season

Nobody confirmed that this would be the last dlc. Those are all just our speculation and we might know something more during the Wednesday livestream.

Multiplatform DLC would be great and all but... I'm not banking on it. Financially, it would make more sense for Frontier to drop the last DLC in March and then release Planet Zoo console in May (potentially with that last DLC included as part of the "deluxe edition" of the game). Then, Frontier continues to slow-drip the Planet Zoo DLC for console once every 2 months or so. They have 16 packs. That's a steady stream of relatively "low-effort" income with a really solid ROI for 2.5 years!

I'd love for the game to continue developing, new content to get released, etc. But the reality is? They simply don't need to do that, and in fact, are in a situation where they potentially can't even consider it even if they wanted to.
