So Aria isn't official spokesperson? Maybe embedded influencer fits?

Nah Pipeline are just fans / leakers / gossips who use whatever they can get their hands on. File-diving, dev gossip, evocati info etc.

They'll get steers from (and get steered by) CIG officially at points. And have often got things wildly wrong when predicting positive outcomes ;). But they're happy enough to go 'off message'.

They've been pursuing the whole US layoffs things for a while now, despite CIG denying it during the early flutters. And hell, this stuff is all bad press for CIG which they'd doubtless rather keep quiet. (If it's accurate: CIG have axed two popular figures who just presented two major Citcon features scheduled for 2024. Base building and multiplayer engineering. Not exactly a good look ;))

Can't put my finger on it since Aria renamed her handle. I forgot whhat it was before. I suspect her handle gave the impression of officiality? And then there was this anal devotedness of posting Test server messages or whatever you call these system notifications. How many branches are there, 3? I mean "anal" for a normal person - normal for an employee managing the outbound communication.

Assistant Design Director. Big on PU systems since 2015. You may know him from such gems as...
Oh this guy! Ok, I never put a name on him.

But, why would like to be quiet about this? They're quite happy to do things like big AAA studios do**, like fancy furnitures, dividends and such. Layoffs are what big AAA do everyday, if CIG is big AAA they must do layoffs too.

**except for releasing games

It's a bit more problematic when the main thing CIG is banking on is confidence rather than actual product.

Sounds like the positive spin they'll eventually put on it ;)

(+ maybe: 'With SQ42 so near completion we could move experts on the new features back into the PU...' ;))

Weird. I never heard about this Trufin guy. What's his role in the Mess?
His team sorted out probably the only gameplay loop that works...mining.

Salvage and refuelling as well to add to that, Dan Trufin and his team usually got stuff done. What it looks like to me is that Ci~G, or more precisely, upper management, are 'restructuring' anyone who was entirely PU centric including heads of departments. Todd Papy, Dan Trufin and whoever else has fallen silently under the axe at the Empire of Roberts in one fell swoop during the usual Q1 'planning phase' signals no good for the PU I reckon. 🤷‍♂️

He must've been an abomination onto Robbers all the time. A guy that passive aggressively undermined the scam by actually delivering working stuff. Imo, it's a miracle he's made it that long.

Does seem like its all on board to deliver SQ404 as soon as possible (so 2 more years right?). Wonder this is due to CR just wanting to get his magnum opus out or because of legal reasons, perhaps linked with them pulling it from the store.

Ya, the store pull was kinda weird. My guess is they got an inquisitive letter of some authority maybe?
