Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

They get so mad sometimes when ya keep killing em. Uh, factions, people, etc. I mean.

I had Galactic Aerospace soooo mad at me last month. I think the only reason they didn't tail me to Colonia was CAUSE THEY WERE SHORT ON UNEXPLODED PILOTS at the time.

By the way, when I was in middle school, physically I mean (still am mentally..), ...I believe the preferred vernacular was peckerheads (one word). Yeahhh I love callin crap peckerheads
Thanks a bunch you ole' schoolmarm you, I will keep it in mind next time. (y)

Meanwhile back at the Ponderosa, I don't need to even look for those but heads [sic], they find me. I could be just hangin' with my pards at the nav beacon and several will jump me. The cool thing is I got NPC cops there to lend a hand unlike a HazRes site, just need to make sure I get a decent trigger pull in on the one's about ready to make a fireball for bounty's sake. Never a dull moment in Colonia. :)

I had a similar experience once. I cut the panel and it fell off as expected. However, there was another panel underneath and that would not cut. Most heinous.

I'm plugging away at CZ's still. Just can't seem to get enough of the state of the art bang bangs.

That's one impressive G5 Executioner you have in your screenshot, also hidding inside the cockpit of a T-7 seems a very nice cover!

I reckon that ED is a merciless universe, but still, children running mercenary businesses, now that's a bit harsh!

I'm going to try a different approach to my CZ tactics. Whist the dual wielding of long-range Aphelions is fun, I'm going to try a more up-close-and-personal method and see how I get on.

It'll be a night vision Dom with ammo, shield and damage resistance with an Intimidator, Eclipse and Tormentor. I may swap out the Eclipse for an AR-50 though.

I'll probably die quite quickly.

Please don't kill your KBM as that will mean I am the last KBM player in a lonely universe
I only use a joystick when I'm doing ship-to-ship combat. I use KB+M for everything else.

I do have a backup keyboard though, for Justin. Mind you, even that is showing signs of combat fatigue - the A and D keys are blank now, where they've been worn :D

I think I wear my war face when in a ground CZ.

you're not alone - since i dropped my XB account, i'm an exclusive KBM player.

I need a new hobby. Fighting CZ's is killing my KB+M.

I've ruined the keyboards of my last 2 gaming laptops
And since the current one is the most expensive laptop i ever had, i decided that maybe i should stop gaming on my coffee table and setup a proper desk
This lead to my laptop getting paired to a 32" Dell G3223D monitor and an Asus ROG Strix Flare II mechanical keyboard (which hopefully will last longer than the kb of my previous laptops)

I have a very expandable basic Fujitsu KBM kit because I can't handle a mouse with more than 2 buttons and a wheel*, and I hate enlightened keyboards.
But on the tactical side of things, I've drawn little symbols with a wood pencil on top of the tools and discard access level😅

For flight ops, I've removed the dust from my old flight sim rig, a Warthog+throttle circa 2010, the paint is craked and all but this thing is tuff. And a Saitek rudder for yaw axis, that comes really handy as the two brakes axis while pointless on ships are perfect for throttle/break on SRVs.

*Sometimes, I miss the old days of Q3arena and UT99 with very noisy keyboards and rubber-ball mouses, and everything hardware was yellowish-white and smelled like a hot exploration FSD after a few hours of gameplay.

Yeah my keyboard is sort of starting to go, many keys no longer legible, but I know where they are. I use a lot of keyboard shortcuts myself, mainly to save wear and tear on my joystick that I have already replaced twice, oh well.

But what I am doing now it just cruising around scanning systems that require scanning for correcting data while waiting for the patch. I am assuming, as I suppose we all are, that the new Python will come out with this patch, but while they have said they will release 4 new ship variants this year, it hasn't been explicitly stated that the first new one will be released with this patch at least nowhere I have seen, just that 4 new variants will be out this year. Can anyone confirm this has been explicitly stated for release this patch?

I use a pretty cheap keyboard (Kensington Slim Type) and have for years and years. It has the feel I like.

I just replace it every 6-8 months when it gets tired and/or dirty.

I've tested other, more expensive keyboards -- mechanical etc. -- and I don't like them. I want a short throw, low profile, silence, and reliable feel.

Funny how I can only get that from a cheap keyboard. :p

I have about six cheap wireless keyboards but sadly only two dongles remaining so really I need to take those orphan keyboards and jettison them into the void sometime soon.

My "gaming" rig isn't one really, I invested (on second user ex-office gear mostly) during the Plague Times and since my working day was eight hours of WebEx at the time I got two decent screens (have you tried chairing, presenting, answering questions, AND taking notes on one screen?) and the proper ergonomics. It so happens simply moving that setup into a Cobra when the time came worked very well.

I even use keyboard in combat, I've got yaw above roll (right hand) and lateral all in reach of pitch (old-school SX for me) so using all six DOF is no worse than playing piano in C sharp minor. Throttle presets in a column down the numpad for punch-in convenience.
