Another disappointment

Just downloaded the update, and tbh its quality seems surprisingly good so far.
Unless there are some less obvious bugs I haven't seen yet, it might even turn out to be the least buggy update I've ever seen.

Well, it has literally zero content I could care about, but at least it did not break EDHM.
I haven't experienced any of the new Thargoid content myself, and I won't be able, even if I would love to, because I am far away from the bubble, but everything was working not just smoothly, but I had the impression of it being even better (better frame rates, lighting, colours).
I don't know if that's true or I was just deluding myself, but my experience last night was flawless.

On the other hand, I wouldn't exclude the possibility of one of those magnificently weird bugs that casually emerge after big patches, something like "when I approach a planet with a Neon atmosphere from its northern hemisphere, my power distributor mulfunctions" or similar 🤭

🤞

So far frame rates seem to be the exact same as before and I cannot see any graphics quality improvements either, but at least it's not worse than it used to be.

I had the same impression last nigh - although I don't know about frame rates - but 'felt' things were looking better

That's both of us deluding ourselves then...

I’m still waiting for on-foot content for Human, Guardian, and Thargoid ruins myself, with a preference for the former two.
I'm one of those players who have never played ED without VR. So far I haven't spent any time on my feet. I don't know when VR will be in this mode. In the 30th patch?

Graphics, atmospheric landings, more realism, VR on your feet. There is so much more needed...

Perfectly balanced, obviously...

I have to admit, that line gets me every time!

No one is saying they should be ignored. We are saying that players who prefer other content also shouldn’t be ignored.
There's two cashiers in a store and four customers, two get served the other two wait to get served, are they being ignored? Well, they're not being served so is it appropriate that they wait to be served or do they start hassling the cashiers and customers being served?

....these will be the most important patch notes mankind has ever typed.
Based on historical trends, I envision something along these lines:

Power Play 2.0
Enjoy the revamped system, with old and new Powers!

Graphic effects
  • corrected an imperfect shadow under the commander's left elbow when fuel scooping
  • the occasional bug showing a slightly misaligned tunnel when a Guardian SLF is re-entering the hangar of the Keelback when fighting a Medusa has been fixed
  • etc.

Sound effects
  • the clanging sound of the landing gear of the Asp Scout on Metal Rich bodies has been reduced by 1dB
  • ...

And so on!

Apart from the VR that already exists?
It would be nice, admittedly, for on-foot 1st person VR, but I'm not expecting it, ever...
I'm only flying a ship in VR. I'm not comfortable with a mouse and keyboard on my feet in VR in cinema mode.

I have all the equipment for VR shooters, including foot controllers. Of course I would like full VR support so I can get out of my chair and do some exercise :) Damn, I could spend hours chopping up Thargoids with a chainsword :))

For me this is much more important than the power play. Odyssey is half finished by the developers now. I don’t understand why nothing has been done in this direction for so long.

That isn't a bug it's a feature, but it is only available when there is a vowel in the month.
