Ooof.
Is that a feature of U18.01?
Doesn't appear to be specifically, I have been playing since it came out and have had no issues.

The CTD occurs when I try to minimize the game to check email or switch playlists on Spotify. I am thinking I should update my driver on the 3080, couldn't hurt.Haven't had any, it's hard to diagnose a CTD, but often CTD's are a hardware issues so I would suggest looking at hardware to star with, maybe that controller that you keep having to unplug and plug back in, maybe the USB port?
Is that a GeForce driver?Ah, it did it again, I used the 551.76 driver and this time it didn't load just crashed right after the looooooong black screen, before I was able to play.
One can but dream...My connection is fast, but not that fast!![]()
Not that I would be aware of. I use a controller, too. But no such issues. Is that a feature of U18.01?
Yes. Well, I'm going to need to figure something out, I can't wait on Frontier. Is that a GeForce driver?
Ooof, rough times.I can't find any threads around of people having problems, I must be the only one. Could it be those beehives I drove past at 60Mph in my Peterbilt killing thousands? Karma, I guess.![]()
I "think" I may have fixed it (knocking on wood), all my settings were changed, I set it to run the shader thingy one time and that seems to have fixed my minute long black screen. The game was locking up when I would touch a button on my controller and would produce a CTD, so I rapped it through the game rather than Steam, we'll see, so far, so good.Ooof, rough times.
I only got chance to dl the update today, and I'm using the same Nvida driver as you.
So far, so good.
I did notice however that I'm experienceing longer 'assembling shaders' time upon login since I updated the Nvida driver earlier this week.
EDIT: I also had a few CTD's earlier in the week, seemingly random - not sure if all of them where after updating to the 551.76 driver, but the last one was.
I don’t minimise the game, I run in borderless mode and alt-tab to other windows if I need to look at something else, if what I need isn’t running I switch to the launcher or one of the game tools to get access to windows to access what I need. The CTD occurs when I try to minimize the game to check email or switch playlists on Spotify. I'm using 551.61 and that's pretty stable.Ah, it did it again, I used the 551.76 driver and this time it didn't load just crashed right after the looooooong black screen, before I was able to play.
You ran your controller through steam?I "think" I may have fixed it (knocking on wood), all my settings were changed, I set it to run the shader thingy one time and that seems to have fixed my minute long black screen. Yeah, I guess it defaulted to that, I'm still getting the super long black screen. At least I fixed my controller problem. This sucks, its got to be an issue with Steam. You ran your controller through steam?
I feel your pain brother.Bah, now I'm getting repeated CTD. Lifted off the same planet 3 times now, and each time when I get the same (ish) distance from my landing spot, CTD, login back to my landing spot.
Restaring the launcher hasn't helped.
Lets see if I get the SRV back out it'll stay stable...
I had a look at those and they didn't contain any information I didn't already know. And those MS crash reports are as useful as a chocolate teapot but sometimes there's a crash number that can be looked up. Whenever I look at one mind you, it just bleats about some kernal error which mean nothing to me.
That "Hang Type: Top level window is idle" often indicates a driver error. It might be worth updating stuffs if you haven't.I had a look at those and they didn't contain any information I didn't already know.

I did verify the files but only updated the video driver, I think there are newer chipset and Soundblaster drivers available, I could give those a shot. That "Hang Type: Top level window is idle" often indicates a driver error. It might be worth updating stuffs if you haven't.
Could also be a corrupted installation -- verifying the files might help.
Good luck. Those kinds of errors can be hard to solve.
