Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

i would need to get a console first
I wonder would there be any differences between the pc and console version.
Planet Coaster on console had more blueprints if I can recall correctly.
I wonder if we would get anything extra on PZ console edition. Maybe more blueprints or slightly modified maps from campaign scenarios.

I can see the console version being appealing to those who own bare-minimum spec laptops or play via streaming apps like geforce now but generally I can imagine the vast majority of pc players here will remain on pc simply because it's better. Mod support, custom media, a much cleaner interface, no build limit, vast workshop already existing etc are all things the console version won't have.

I’ve bought it today. I’m super curious and I want to compare both.

I loved JWE on console and hated it on pc.

So I plan to test both PZ versions and stick to the one that would seem better for me.
I mean you do you. Personally after seeing the preview stuff i have no reason to believe that console is better.
Maybe there are one or 2 small things, but the limitations, loss of progress and waiting a year for all existing content outweight that so hard

I have no idea if it’s going to be better but I want to find out.
Loss of progress from the pc version right?
I’m happy to do all campaigns again.

12 is a breeze for me, though I'm far less keen on habitat birds compared to most. Of course, I say that and I'm realizing I have 3-4 in the proposed pack below. Slotted in a few "easy" makes (river otter, black bear, fox, ocelot). There's some picks I'd prefer that just don't feel reasonable given some of the other wants (e.g., NA porcupine, tamandua).
  • 5 species from Latin America (coati, howler monkey, golden lion tamarin, ocelot, scarlet ibis)
  • 1 species from Oceania (Matschie's tree kangaroo)
  • 2 species from Africa (secretary bird, bat-eared fox)
  • 3 species from North America (burrowing owl, river otter, black bear)
  • 1 species from Asia (Reeve's muntjac or mandarin duck)
8 habitat species would be a bit tighter but I'd love:
  • 4 species from Latin America (coati, golden lion tamarin, ocelot, scarlet ibis)

I don't think it's unreasonable to hope for up to 12 habitat species, IMHO, especially since the pack is likely coming at a later date than anticipated and if you expect some of the picks to be similar to animals already in-game. It's on the more optimistic side of reasonable but it doesn't feel too outlandish to me.

I'm anticipating a solid pack of 8 + WTE with picks that are mostly bangers/relatively unique plus some generic zoo scenery (fence pieces, hot wire, clutter, etc.) with a scenery piece count lower than usual and pieces that don't require as much research and are pretty universal (not specific to a single culture/region) but still extraordinarily useful.

More than that would obviously be amazing... But I'm not necessarily willing to let myself expect that just yet. Hah.
Maybe the "scenery" could be all of the objects we see in the staff facilities, now placeable wherever we'd like!

Also I’m surprised that out of all topics we’ve covered on here we haven’t actually talked about if the next pack is scenery or animal if it’s a regular pack.

Scenery follows the pattern, but animal because we got a lot of building pieces in the winter, more so leaning towards scenery personally.

I think, since it's potentially the final pack...there are so many uncertainties with the release. When? How Many animals? will it actually be the last or is there maybe a little more? What theme? Will "my"(you, ours, community, the royal "we") favored animals make it into the game in this possible last chance for them to get it?

THEN you throw in the Console release causing further uncertainty.

Seems like the only thing that's certain is that the DLC cycle is winding down but we still don't know if it's 1 more, 2 more, or (if fate should be so incredibly kind no matter how unlikely it is) one final year's worth of content?

To your question though....I think with that uncertainty, and talk of a larger than normal pack as a finale pack, there's flatout general denial at even the possibility of it being a scenery pack. Unless it's not the last pack and we do have another. I've talked it before though of course not my idea. If it's a scenery pack and not the final pack, a Central American pack would work well. It would give us 5 more Latin American animals and they could then put another one or two animals in some kind of finale pack.
