Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

Would you guys like signs like this? SEA animal pack concept art.

If it is a scenery pack I would hope it has the animal choices you suggested. I also prefer the spider monkey over the howler. About why so little birds... They are probably harder to make. But I also think frontier keeps them for Planet zoo 2. Think about it, why would you buy the sequel when the first game has everything you need?
It already has pretty much everything i need. Only missing some key South american species, a couple of personal favorites and birds. I'll wait and see what the complete final roster ends up being but birds alone are not enough for me to buy a sequel. Don't want to pay for the same animals i already paid for and on top of that loosing all my builds to start from scratch.

I’ll admit, despite everything I have said on this forum, it would take a lot more than birds to get me to buy a sequel. I would expect a lot of good changes, on top of getting a good roster of birds. That’s even to say we even start with a good roster of birds. It took us years to get many of the most requested animals, I can’t imagine me waiting years to hope I get even some of the bird species I have been requesting. That’s on top of the possibility of Frontier reselling us a lot of the same animals all over again (if it happens).

Surely, Planet zoo 2 would have more than just flying birds. By now frontier knows what we want: more management options, better exhibits, perhaps fish,.. So much improvement is possible. I am sure that if a sequel provides this after some years have passed, most of us would jump on that train.

Oh yeah, if it has more features I will probably end up getting it. I just hop Frontier lets us play with Planet Zoo for a bit longer if a sequel is planned,

You are very right about that, and likely where they are going with birds at some point in a sequel. My thinking is we wont' see that sequel before 2027 at earliest - time enough to let another Planet game shine. I don't know if I'd buy a sequel myself, probably eventually but not right away. PZ truly does have almost everything I feel I need, and what I need most is flying birds which we can all mostly accept wont' be coming at this point. Despite harping on about needing more Latin American animals, overall I'm extremely happy with our mammal roster, and even our reptile roster, though I get some would agree with that.

Fish, marine mammals and other marine animals are a different story. I'll gladly buy a Planet Aquarium even if it is a stand alone from PZ. And I think they could make PAq big enough that it work as a stand alone, as opposed not really being able to make Planet Aviary work. I mean, I'm sure there's some small Aviary only places, but it''s far from the norm I think.

Not sure if Planet aquarium would be a succes. Personally, I would get bored with a game that only focuses on water species. But I would probably buy Planet zoo 2 with flying birds and other improvements. Would be nice going back speculating on the forum, having no idea what frontier has planned for the sequel. I miss the excitement we had in the earlier Planet zoo years.

Off topic but did anyone ever had a problem with the game crashing when deleting a specific item?
I placed an exhibit in the middle of my zoo yesterday because i wanted to check out the tortoise, but now every time i want to delete or move it the game just crashes. Its just this one dumb exhibit, nothing else.
Never had anything like this and its really annyoing because its right where i want to build

Never had this I think. I hope you find a fix or can go back to an earlier save without losing too much progress.

Moments like these make me glad I have a rotating set of backup files, I've had issues with staff pathfinding crashing the game but never an actual building piece.

Thing is we've already had a South American scenery pack. Shifting that elsewhere to a different part of fhe Latin region makes some sense, at least in my mind. Caribbean theme would be great but would be short of animals that could show up as the game is now. Patagonia and Andean regions might could work, but not as well as Central American, again at least in my opinion.
A Latin American or Caribbean theme keeps getting suggested but I’m yet to see an example of what it could potentially include that we can’t already build pretty easily…. What kind of build pieces would you include in such a theme?
