Alright, though experiment, excluding Latin America/America or "Around the World" finale vibes, what are other themes you could realistically see being the next DLC?

Out of all the thems thrown around i like Mountains the most i think IF it includes a pheasant or the lesser rhea. Coastal is another favorite of mine with sea otter, pelican and puffins.
Personally i cant really see mountains as the next one.
Spec bear and a mountain goat are kinda must have inclusions and we just got one of each the previous pack.
In fall definetly, but not now

True but we also got 3 pigs in one year and we got Oceania in the fall which is more of a summer theme so anything can happen, at least mountains can sorta represent spring like for example if they with a background and roster like this:
The mountain theme coming in spring isnt impossible.
I just dont think having half of the packs roster being essentially repeats from the very previous pack is a good idea, thats all.
And yeah i know they arent exactly the same but the spec is another smallish black colored bear and the markhor is another himalayan mountain climbing goat
I find it funny how people complain about too many carnivores and ungulates but every mountain pack is full of them. Pick your poison I guess, plenty of great bird and other mammal picks like the marmot are out there.
I guess it's time for a new hot take, I don't think the spectacled bear is necessary and certainly having it up there with South American monkeys, birds and the coati is crazy to me. Yes it's a very nice animal but to act like it's some vital necessity for a zoo game on par with the other South American animals seems a bit outlandish to me. Still hope we get it nonetheless though but really it's not needed in comparison to the others.
Talking about bears, I've warmed up on the ABB quite a lot recently. I like to build realistically and it is not common at all on Europe but I recognise it is so crazy common in North American zoos and would be a greater pick for a North American zone than it's other bears that I hope we see it get in. I hope we complete full bear set but I'm not anticipating it happening.

If it’s an animal pack then I would add stuff like the hyrax or pheasant in, but the 4 I mentioned earlier are top priority for me and are all some of my highly wanted animals. Also I think the main complaint for ungulates is antelopes that don’t really get interesting enclosures, ungulates like goats/caprines are different, because you can actually build some interesting enclosures for them and we only have 2 goats (dall and ibex) , plus it’s been a while since we got an actual goat looking species (before someone says it the takin doesn’t fit this category cause it looks more like a Buffalo).

That's it exactly for me. I don't mind more ungulates. Just not more African Antelopes. We had so many at base game and we've gotten with DLC IMO. Markhor, Himalayan Tahr, Blackbuck, they're all great additions to me.
Since we are talking about WTE birds I will hold all of you captive to show you guys a pretty bird I saw at Roger Williams Zoo!
Normally for the WTE we talk about budgies, and rainbow lorikeets, but look at this pretty small parrot from Australia! Everyone say hello to the Eastern Rosella
TBH I doubt we would get one walk through species of bird if we finally got one, now it’s possible it may be a couple species from the same group of animal. I imagine if they make a rig/ animation set like they did with the butterflies they wouldn’t use it once. Now that may mean we get something like 5 parrot species:
Hyacinth Macaw
Scarlet Macaw
Blue and Gold Macaw
Palm cockatoo
Sulfur crested cockatoo
But I doubt they would only do a scarlet macaw and that’s it.
I have a suspicion the butterflies are all the same model, just with transparencies on square wings, so to be in the same exhibit it might need to be the same model, rig and animations, at the same size (there's no baby models/sizes & there's no dimorphism for the Crested Newt for example). I feel like a modder would know whether or not that's the case.
If they have to be the same everything except for skin, Scarlet & Blue-and-yellow would safely work together, could maybe add Military Macaws to that (have to do tail feather transparency to shorten the tail a bit), but I think Hyacinth wouldn't look right on that model (has a longer beak, is slightly more bulky, and has different feather covering on the face, though that bit should be doable with feather transparency).
The Adelaide Rosella is the one I see in the wild (I've been to Naracoorte and seen normal Crimson Rosellas). A lot of the Platycercinae do look very similar, so you could probably do a few species with the same model, albeit they're Oceania endemic and a bit on the small side.
Lovebirds are my go to for Africa, a variety of species that could potentially use the same model without too much issue, lots of colourmorphs in captivity, even a Madagascan species. Though they are quite small (all under 20cm long) and the 3 main captive species are pretty common as pets.
Here's 5 of the more distinct species in captivity, with 3 species having colourmorphs (blue is a structural colour of bird feathers, combining with yellow pigment to make green)
Peach face Lovebird (common in captivity)
Masked Lovebird (common in captivity)
Fischer's Lovebird (common in captivity)
Abyssinian Lovebird (rare as pets, but are bred in captivity to a degree)
Madagascan lovebird (rare/some success in captivity, being shy & easily stressed. They breed in Autumn which is just too cold in most places.)
The aoudad would make a cool addition as the mandatory ungulate of a desert animal pack, especially in combo with the hamadryas.
In a mountains pack i dont see its chances to high since it has some serious competion from the other caprines.

Yea it is probably the single most underrated ungulate species in my opinion, a real shame since it's extremely common in real life zoos. In that regard it might be up there with the muntjac and blackbuck.

I 100% agree. Honestly i just want it for ZT nostalgia, because is different from other bears in biomes, looks and evolutionary terms, and for the sake of completion. But is in no way essential for SA Rep and the animals you mention are more important.
Oh I didn't mean underrated I meant as in common. Also it's that high? Damn that's awesome. Either way I think in general these three might be my top ungulate trio right now.
The Markhor and the Aoudad are my 2 most wanted caprines and maybe ungulates in general, both would provide great diversity to the game. Shame we didn’t get the Aoudad in Arid or for that matter Markhor in Eurasia.
