Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

Yes hello I am one of them
Same. Although i ask for all of that equally. Is not that i don't like ungulates is just that i would prefer one more bird instead of some of the ungulates we got in some packs.

Like cappercaillie instead of saiga/wisent
Secretary bird instead of dama gazelle (now that we have it i like it but never really needed it so i would've been fine if we never got it, and same goes for the wild ass)
Pelican/Duck instead of Nile lechwe (never used it, looks nice but same as the gazelle it would have never been a need for me and actually whould've prefered the waterbuck, marsh deer or pere David deer if we have to pick another ungulate)

Nile lechwe and dama gazelle are up there as animals I never asked for, but they are both so pretty I’m actually happy they are here. Would I have preferred birds? Absolutely. But they are both really beautiful ungulates.

Since we have been talking about bird people flip flopping onto ungulates I’m gonna give my top 4 in no order:
  1. Nigerian dwarf goat for my petting zoos
  2. Either the Ankula Watusi or the Highland cow as another domestic.
  3. Peere David’s deer as probably my #1
  4. Reeves muntjac as a second deer

First of all, I wish I had more options for Oceania, but I will do what I can do:
  1. Caribbean: brown pelican, Caribbean flamingo, roseate spoonbill
  2. India: lion tailed macaque, blackbuck (I know it’s not top of my list but too many people like it not to add it), demoiselle crane
  3. Madagascar: hamerkop, white faced whistling duck,Coquerel's sifaka
  4. Oceania/ Pacific islands: Nene, Victoria crowned pigeon, any tree kangaroo
  5. Antarctic: gentoo penguin, Antarctic fur seal, then maybe another penguin like the macaroni? Not too many Planet Zoo friendly animals in Antarctica lol

Carribean:
The only animal i want thats endemic to this region is the rhinoceros iguana and hopefully a freeing of the exhibit iguanas.
Otherwise just waterbirds like roseate spoonbill and brown pelican.

India:
- Blackbuck + Nilgai are pretty much essential when talking about indian representation for the simple reason that while the game as a whole lacks in primates and birds, asia but especally india is also lacking in a backbone of basic filler ungulates and those 2 are my ungulates of choice to do that job.
The Black buck is as basic as it gets but still visually distinct while the nilgai is both morphologically and taxononically a very unique antelope and both are atleast somewhat relevant to indian culture

- a monke or bird, my desire for lion tailed macaque, gray hulman and the rusty shell duck are all 3 equal in my mind and all got their pros and cons, but imo for india specifically filling up the ungulate hole is more important

I'll list my top five:
Caribbean: American Flamingo, Green Sea Turtle, Manatee, Brown Pelican, Roseate Spoonbill
Indian Subcontinent: Markhor, Pallas's Cat, Blackbuck, Grey langur, Honey Badger
Madagascar/Islands: Nile Crocodile, Panther Chameleon, Coqueral's Sifaka, Leaf Tailed Gecko, Aye Aye
Oceania: Tree Kangaroo, Short Beaked Echidna (It's on New Guinea), Black Swan (Tasmania), Pig Nosed Turtle, Nene
Antarctic: Rockhopper Penguin, Leopard Seal, Adelie Penguin, Fur Seal, Emperor Penguin

I’d love an entire animal pack of ‘boring deer’.
Yes, those kind of species are always good to "fill" areas. I always try have 1/2 exhibits with animals of high value and then some less popular animals to finish the area.

I'll list my top five:
Caribbean: American Flamingo, Green Sea Turtle, Manatee, Brown Pelican, Roseate Spoonbill
Indian Subcontinent: Markhor, Pallas's Cat, Blackbuck, Grey langur, Honey Badger

Antarctic: Rockhopper Penguin, Leopard Seal, Adelie Penguin, Fur Seal, Emperor Penguin
If that India pack would come I really use it! Think small cats are still missing too much in this game (same with for example the Serval), so the Pallas's cat would be nice to have. Same with a langur species, always loved those in ZT2.

Caribbean: Brown pelican, Scarlet ibis and not realistically but west Indian manatee. Since manatee is not possible any monkey that lives in the Caribbean islands.
Indian subcontinente: blackbuck, lion tailed Macaque, king cobra
Madagascar: aye-aye, coquerel Sifaka, any chameleon
Oceania: Victoria crowned pigeon, tree kangaroo, tuatara
Antarctic: rockhopper penguin, gentoo penguin and that's it tbh.

any monkey that lives in the Caribbean islands.
I’m at school in the Caribbean, and from what I know there are no native monkeys. I tried to look it up, from a cursory glance every monkey in the Caribbean is an invasive/introduced species. I know the African green vervet is common where I am right now.

Actually wait I found some: howlers and capuchins on Trinidad, and cotton top tamarins in the Rosario islands. But yeah a lot of native monkeys went extinct, and a number of old world monkeys were introduced.

Same conversations over and over again, huh? Alright then, what PZ opinion gets you this reaction?

And nothing about wishlists or "we don't need animal xyz", opinions ONLY about things in the game as is. I'll go first:
  • I like the lion.
  • Exhibit animals offer a necessary "art through restriction" element in comparison to the complete customizability of habitats.
  • There should be twice as many tutorials to address the game's inherent learning curve, especially for younger players.
I think just one - YAY for all the antelopes in PZ and I think the game could have even more 😅

(Edit: oop, i somehow didn’t see the number three lmao)
Caribbean: Roseate spoonbill, pelican, scarlet ibis
India: Bar-headed goose, lion tailed macaque, blackbuck
Madagascar: Hammerkop, aye-aye, white faced whistling duck
Oceania: Victoria crowned pigeon, nēnē, tree roo. Shout out to the kagu, Kunekune, tuatara, and giant weta.
Antarctic: rockhopper penguin, gentoo, that’s kinda it. Maybe a leopard seal but only if we had way longer left.

Also oh god I woke up and the deer discussion grew like three times as big. 💀
