Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

I always thought the baboon business just came down to the cape porcupine. Like they spent so much time on the quills and model they had to fill the rest of the pack with “““clones””” to save time and cost.
TBH if that isn’t the reason it definitely makes the lack of baboon a weird decision
Nuh.
Frontier literally just chosen sand cand over it.

ZT2 Keepers: rain or shine, mountain or valley, open ocean to dense jungle, I will complete my mission. LARGE ANIMAL FOOD BOWL #16 WILL BE FILLED ON MY ANCESTOR’S HONOR!!!!!!!!

We must have played different ZT2's. Everytime I added more than 2 animals, the keeper wasn't as fast as the animals frequency on taking a dump. So at some point it was all "hey, it's Poop Cleaning Tycoon 2" for me, since I was the one cleaning the habitats.

Never liked the sand cat, never heard of them in zoos and just never cared for them. I know a lot of people were a fan of it, but I just saw it as another wasteful slot in the arid pack.
Imo its one of the best additions of it. The sand cat is radically different from every other cat we had so far (As far as cats go anyways), we didnt had a proper small cat and since they didnt specify any subspecies it covers alot of ground.
If there had to be a carnivoran in the arid animal pack, and since we talking about frontier here it had to, the sand cat was the best one together with the honeybadger
Definetly a better choice than the 4th oryx type antelope imo

I'd really like an India Animal Pack! Especially if it is NOT the last DLC. For the Exhibit they could do a cobra...
  • Honey Badger
  • Great Indian Hornbill
  • Reeve's Muntjac
  • Demoiselle Crane
  • Nilgai
  • Pallas' Cat
  • Golden Jackal
Could easily replace a carnivore (probably jackal) with a monkey of some kind too... Other potential inclusion: An Indian type of Mongoose. I don't think any from India specifically are common in captivity but it'd be nice to have a more typical mongoose aside from Meerkat.

Hey everyone. I just got back from hospital from a surgery (nothing serious) and I am out of PZ loop.

Are we still thinking the DLC will be before Easter? Because I just checked steam db and looks like there is not much traffic there, usually it is all over the place this close to the release schedule.
Get well soon and nah, probably after console so id guess mid to late april

Thank you. Yea I thought so also. To be honest I kind of lost my motivation to play for a while after all the indicators that this will indeed be the last DLC. I feel bad, because we should be happy for the console edition, for all the people that will get to play this game that we all love, but…

Indian animal pack?
Mine would be:
-Nilgai/Blackbuck: One indian antelope is a must have in such a pack
-Gray langur/Lion tailed macaque: same here, one indian monkey is a must have
-Zebu cattle/Gaur: Given how important zebu are to indian culture it would feel wrong to not include it, but idk if those are really in zoo so gaur as alternative
-Barheaded goose: Pretty and really common bird
-Honeybadger: Requested animal with big range
-Asiatic Lion: Clone spot and more a model update than anything to be honest
-Red jungle fowl: Personal choice really
-Cobra: Obvious choice for the exhibit

Sand cat was meh, not really a common zoo animal at all but at least its a proper small cat which we didn't have before. Probably a hot take but its the animal I care the least for in that pack lol, for me the fennec fox filled that niche just fine. If I had to rate the Arid animals now I think I'd do it like this:
  1. Dromedary Camel
  2. African Crested Porcupine
  3. Addax
  4. Black Rhinoceros
  5. Somali Wild Ass
  6. Dama Gazelle
  7. Sand Cat

I would prefer baboon or if it had to be another carnivore serval or honey Badger, then get the Pallas Cat as our small cat in Eurasia and get rid of the sloth bear regardless of how good it looks.
