Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

Looks like JWE2 already has their outsource_lqa updated again.

And the number of players in-game for Planet Zoo seems to be the highest since January. I guess it is because of the sale

Not even our outsource thing? More waiting for me I guess …..

On that topic and since nobody asked, this are My top most wanted monkey species:

1. Black and gold howler monkey
2. Golden lion tamarin
3. Mexican spider monkey
4. White face saki
5. Squirrel Monkey
6. Mantled guereza
7. De Brazza's monkey
8. Golden snub nosed monkey
9. Grey langur
10. Vervet monkey
11. Lion tailed Macaque
12. Patas monkey
To be honest I am not picky with monkeys at all, other than I want them. I think my favorite oddball monkey pick is the Debrazza Monkey though. From Africa, has a cool beard, and also lives near water and can swim!

Truly the monkey of all time :)

Y'know, I wonder if the JWE2 outsource update isn't for a new DLC at all. They didn't get any new updates/features with the DLC. Maybe that all just got delayed for one reason or another?

Just a thought. Could also be a new DLC but... This would explain the lack of update.

EDIT: Then again, if it's a second DLC coming so quickly, that would explain why the last one was so "basic." I'm fine waiting for one bigger pack if it means the species picks are stronger and more unique, we get a free update, etc.

I mean if the last dlc was quick, I can imagine them getting two DLCs. Maybe Planet Zoo isn’t as rushed like how we feared? Could be copium in my part though.

PZ and JWE2 are also treated like sister games, so I almost wonder if the last dlc came out so that fanbase had something while PZ on console was being released.

Why are people thinking that they're "rushing" the DLC? If anything, it feels like they're taking their time with it and have been working on it for a minute. Haha.

It's pretty likely that it's an entirely different team who handles the porting. It's not like they're creating new assets for the console version. The people who create new animals and scenery items for PDLC wouldn't have anything to do with that aspect of it so...

If something was delayed then Recycled Species Pack is something worth to talk about. Last year JWE recieved only 3 DLCs so now it makes sense to get 2 close to each other.

While I think a goat would be perfect as a petting zoo animal, I can’t deny the “domesticated but wild looking enough” crowd has been very appealing to me lately.

I think it would be nice to get one more domestic, and I kind of hope if we don’t get a goat we get one of these goobers.
Breeds shown:
  1. Ankole Watusi cattle
  2. Helmeted guineafowl
  3. Muscovy duck
  4. Highland cattle
  5. Poitou donkey
  6. Kunekune pig
  7. Jacob sheep
  8. Silkie chicken

A petting zoo/farm pack as the last DLC would feel equivalent to that hybrid pack for JW for me. Super lackluster and uninteresting way to end the game, even with duck and rabbit in it.
As the last dlc I wouldn’t want one either, but I would like one more domestic. I expect the goat, but I think the Ankole Watusi could be nice. Or the Scottish highland cow, if Llamas as a domestic animal are important enough for South America to get in the game I feel the same about the highland cow.

A question for everyone: Do you think just taking the Top 25 of the 2024 Meta would be a good closure for the game with another year of support?
I would say replace something (not another bird though 🤪) and sneak the scarlet ibis in there. Otherwise even as is it’s pretty good, much prefer that one if we had to get the top 25.

Copy and pasted for the ease of everyone, big thanks to @SuzieSky for providing the wishlist this time around. Personally I would replace the ocelot or markhor for the scarlet ibis, but even then I do like those guys. Overall, yeah I would take it even with no changes. Even if it isn’t my personal preferred duck, I would love the mandarin.
