Replace the shoebill and musk ox with Victoria crowned pigeon and white faced saki and I’m golden. Also I love that the spider monkey is in the top 6, as it should be. As well as the fact that the manatee is at 50, take that.

A bit too much "headliner" animals for my taste but overall the top 25 animals is diverse enough to be an good year of dlc.
Yeah there are thing id swap around aswell. Like one of the baboons to lion tailed macaque for example.I would say replace something (not another bird though) and sneak the scarlet ibis in there. Otherwise even as is it’s pretty good, much prefer that one if we had to get the top 25.

But overall these 25 do a pretty good job of rounding out the roster and filling holes.
Yes. Is pretty much all the animals i still want. i would only remove the shoebill, replace it for the Scarlet ibis and i don't need both the gelada and the gelada and the baboon so something else can take one of those spots as well. Maybe the Southern Tamandua or the Golden snub nosed monkey or an Indian primate.
Respectfully I’m gonna disagree a bit, I find the 2024 meta wishlist to be full of fantastic “filler” animals. At least compared to earlier levels of dlc. I think we think of these guys as headliner animals because we have wanted them so long, but personally I think all of the animals in the top 25 will be great to flesh out areas and provide filler. Next to my stars the snow leopard I can have markhor. Next to my highlight the red pandas I have the golden pheasant. Close to my tigers is a little grassland with blackbuck.
I mean you guys know me, I would happily replace stuff for more birds. But if I had to take the final dlc as the 25 2024 meta wishlisters I would take it.
- Gives some ungulates
- Gives a bear
- Gives two cats
- Gives 8 birds! Wowzers! (But if we could replace just 3 guys, we could double the in-game species roster)
- The monkeys! MONKEYS!
I know everyone doesn’t want both baboons but I couldn’t be happier about it.
Is not that i don't want them both (although i'm biased towards the gelada i see the use of the desert baboon) but if we are to get 25 final animals i rather one of them be something else so we get even more variety or to fill a niche that the rest don't fill (like Indian monkeys).
But both are different enough (in looks, biomes, behaviours) to not feel like we get two of the same thing.
I would drop the shoebill for the American Black Bear. It's very close at 28, would finish the bears, and adds the last big icon for my continent. Apart from that tiny change, I'd be pretty happy with that lineup. There might be some other small substitutions I'd make, but that's the big one I need.
And to further elaborate on that:
- Not only 8 birds but the types we have been most asking for: a duck, a pelican, a pink american wading bird, two ground african birds and an asían pheasant. It also completes the ratite roster and gives SA one of it's last most important, common and iconic animals with the rhea
- Not only monkeys but three new world monkeys, two of them big and very arboreal and the other one a small tamarin, colorful and a zoo staple. Also adds one tropical african monkey with the guereza and a true baboon.
- We get finally an Indian antelope and an actually useful versatile asían antelope with the blackbuck.
- Almost finishes (in my eyes) the perfect Oceania roster with the last type of monotreme remaining and the highly requested tree kangaroo. Only thing missing for me would be an Australian large monitor.
- Pretty much closes the arctic circle with the musk ox and the walrus, adding another unique pinniped in the process.
- SA gets a huge boost and gets basically all the important players missing and fills the empty (or almost empty) regions of Patagonia and Tropical Andes while also expanding on the tropical rainforest biodiversity.
Hot take probably but the main problem I have with the top 25 is that there isn't enough for Africa, I always like getting new African antelopes despite wanting animals elsewhere. I'm still an avid enjoyer of the dama gazelle.

Honestly seeing how everyone has their own unique wants makes me realize the final dlc has no shot to make everyone happy,
However, if the cards are played well they can make it a more universally loved pack. Obviously we all have animals we would rather get over others, but I think we all also have animals we wouldn’t mind getting. I also think with the 8-12 slots you can create a very good roster that fills a number of the missing holes. Still a lot of that requires Frontier to give species attention to animal groups they normally don’t do as much.
If people are like me they also have animals that are “I would have preferred this but I also really like this”. My example: I would have preferred the white face whistling duck but I also really like the mandarin duck!
So with the extra time being spent, I think the final dlc could be a good one!

But going for an overall community desired roster? You gotta take the ones you're not all that interested in along with the ones you are. Besides, I betcha 99% of us would be fine with this roster, even without any oddballs surprises.
