Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Cool. I don't know how I wasn't aware of this during four years of playing and subbing to Elite channels.

What happens when you achieve orbit though? Do you just end up a corpse who died screaming in the vastness of space?
You can always slow down and fall again.

But a couple of intrepid CMDRs have managed to fly to another planet and land there.

And I saw one in an Orbital station, trying to get thru the slot. :p
The new FSD looks intriguing then...
As I said in the other thread, I hope it uses Tritium for fuel. Now that would be comical! :p

Maybe it uses escape pods. Would explain a lot.
I don't think they had collected enough of those pods to fuel the Titans before they were sent out to slap us on our wrist.
Those escape pod inhabitants the Thargoids have scooped up seemed to be of importance for their next step in the war. Which we haven't seen yet. I wonder if the other Titans are now scrambling to get that phase underway in their sphere of influence.

The new FSD looks mostly useless to me.

It can go faster in Supercruise, but uses a ton of fuel and heats up your ship like crazy? And has less jump range than normal FSDs? And can't be engineered?

Well I guess I won't be coming back to the bubble to get one.

Maybe there is some synergy with the new, as-yet-unreleased ships. If not, then it seems like a real dud to me.

This one will be worth it when I'm done:

I noticed they changed some of the colors on the FSS scanner.
They did? What are you seeing? I haven't noticed... yet...

Hmm. Sounds not so good then.

The gas giants are now a yellow/gold color and the smaller rocky planets are a gray color, the distant stars within the system are red instead of blue. I'm not sure if it's a computer setting or maybe I'm finally getting dementia. The turquoise and white is still there for asteroids and some planets I haven't had a chance to see the others yet.

Sounds like we get an update for EDHM with some new settings available...

Well, that planet alone netted me:

(I had a couple of small items already so I'm estimating ~320mCR)

The osseus was a complete smee hee; that third sample took longer than the last ice age to find. I, therefore, gave it the respect it was due when I finally happened upon it and let it eat hot AR-50 ammunition. No picture provided in case the finat of heart are disturbed.

And this was new bio for me - clypeus speculumi

Looks like they swapped the colours back like they were before, before they mucked them up with EDO.
Never understood red water worlds, great to see them back being blue. (y)
