Very vague response. Didn’t confirm any more dlc (besides the one we know about), literally skirted around any possible details. Including release date 😂

This to me is the same as “we think you will be happy” cannot guarantee anything as it is a very HR response.

I will say I am also gonna agree with others, I would love to hear more news for PC but right now it is consoles time to shine.

Only problem is, what does it mean? With saying this they don't say anything. We got a new community challenge yesterday, but that they can also see as still supporting PC version.
That’s the point, they don’t want to say anything right now. Replying to that guys question with “yeah we are planning to drop PC support after the next dlc” is not a good look.

Also PZ for PC might be in a weird limbo right now, with console and PC sales dictating if we get any future support. And if we do get more support, how much will it be?

Not to mention they are taking more time than usual with this dlc, which could be due to any number of reasons. I think it makes sense why things have been so quiet.

Sorry, I didn't know. I thought it could have been a cool topic to talk about the Spring DLC we wait for and to also kill some time-
I'd personally want some kinda update regarding exhibit animals. Such as smaller enclosure sizes and interspecies exhibits.

I'd also like interspecies interactions, mainly things like calling out to other animals, stalking, things like that. I personally feel like the animals are lifeless and require some more animations and behaviors to make the game feel more alive

I mean do they? Ofcourse its common knowledge here in the forum, but i dont remember them saying that anywhere else than the stream. Something that the vast majority of players didnt watch, so i think its perfectly normal that so many are still worried and dont know
Thinking about it probably not as much as we do, I try to mention it when people ask on the steam forums but the intelligence over there is... questionable.

I think that’s been one of the biggest disconnects I’ve had with people/ any of the general player base. The disconnect and knowledge I have about the community/ game vs. an average person. I can talk about some personal experience:
  1. Talking to my GF/ friends about PZ I mention how the game has no parrots, eagles, etc. I usually get the same response each time: “that seems stupid”.
Obviously to us here on the forum we have some general ideas as to why that is, limitations, time, financial issues with the company. But to the average person/ casual players, it just might seem like a weird choice for a zoo game. Considering they are ABC animals, to the average Joe it probably just seems like a silly deliberate choice. (I’ll be honest with the WTE not having birds at the time I feel the same, especially after the hummingbird mod)

Likewise it’s been the same with the animal choices in the DLCs. Yes last years DLCs really knocked out a lot of the top meta wishlist animals. But those guys were voted on by 600 people dedicated enough to be on the forum, I imagine many of those users are no longer active. Not to mention the animals at the top now may have been much less popular only a couple years ago. To us, it seems like Frontier picks animals we voted for and seem like an obvious inclusion. To casual players I don’t know if they feel the same? I bet many don’t even know the meta wishlist exists. Or even what a wisent is, which was a cover animal for the last dlc.

So I imagine a lot of players don’t have much knowledge outside of social media posts, and that also makes me curious into how it ties into sales. I know dlc sales haven’t been doing as well (which is not to say they are doing poorly) and I wonder if it ties into what I’ve said above. Outside of base game ABC animals, I don’t know how much the average person cares about some of the animals getting into game. Even now, under a lot of the social media pages, I usually see the same two animal groups brought up:
  1. Marine animals 🐬🐙🦀🐠🦈
  2. Birds 🦅🦆🦜
To us who spend a lot of the time on the forums, modding, tracking Frontier’s behaviors. We know the odds of that happening are low, due to a number of factors. To a lot of the average player base, they may be waiting on their inclusion or may have even lost interest in the game without them. Likewise the lack of PC posts probably seems like Frontier left it behind.

Makes me curious to see what the next dlc will be, and the future of Planet Zoo. Though I will say, I personally don’t think the next dlc will be some jaw dropping new thing. It might be better than usual, but to some degree will be more of the same. I’m gonna guess many of those big game changing features may be getting saved for the future.

Seems from the Facebook page that they are dealing with several issues and bugs on the console. Makes sense to focus April on combating those issues. I would imagine they would use May to promote consoles dlc. This time would be the best time to release of dlc.
Does anyone know how console has been doing sales and reception wise?
