DLC18 discussion and predictions

After reading more comments now I'm second guessing myself, dead serious do we really think there is one more pack?
I choose to hope we will get another pack or two.

Theory I mentioned elsewhere for two more packs. We're at 187 animals now with this pack. Scenery pack comes in the summer and we get 5 more animals, then an anniversary animal for a total of 193. Add in 8 more animals for the "world tour"...or even just 7 like here...hey, that's 200/201 animals. the magic number we're getting closer to.

Point is, the closer we get to that magic 200 number, the more likely I think it is we'll reach it one way or another. perhaps it's as reasoned above. perhaps it's an "around the world" 12 animal pack and then an anniversary animal. Or just a 13 animal pack combined of scenery and animal pack content.

Point being, we're close to that number. I guarantee you they're not going to get to 198 or 199 animals and stop there. They'll find a way to get to "200 animals!" or "Over 200 animals!!! (201 likely but still true lol). "Nearly 200 animals!!!" doesn't quite carry the same weight. When you're that close, just do it.

Alright, I have some questions stemming from the release date of the Barnyard Pack. Do you think a summer DLC will be released in June as it has always happened? Was this just an exception due to the release of the console game? Is Frontier coming back to regular schedule?
Or will the new pack be pushed forward one month to July? It feels like a worse month for releasing a videogame. But just two months between DLCs feel like rushing it too much, I don't think Frontier could make a good pack so quickly with the current staff situation.
IF we had some more packs in the future, it may mean a change for a 4 month distance between DLCs? End of April, End of August, End of December. They would have more time to prepare the DLC while still being a regular schedule.
Assuming we get more packs which i highly doubt (and also the reason why i am so bitter about this pack) You might be onto something with the schedule. And maybe this is what the new format is going to be more animals less scenery.

But like i said in another thread this pack felt like a low resources pack. All the animals have an already existing base in other ingame animals so they don't need much more than twitching the rigs and adding a couple of animations (so essentially all are some what easy / faster to make). There is no porcupine in this pack to speak of. Chicken based on peafowl, donkey based on somalí ass, sheep and goat based on dall sheep and ibex, pig based on well all the pigs, alpaca is basically the llama 2.0 and the cow would require a lot of work on the fur but it is another bovid just like wisent, bison, buffalos, etc. There is no rabbits for instance that would have required a whole new set of animations and heavily modified rig. And to me the skins don't feel as detailed in texture as previous animals we've for but that might be just me.

The pieces are few but i can't say much until we see them. And i haven't seen the foliage so i can't really coment on that.

But all in all seems to be an "easy" pack to put together fairly quick.

I feel like all the work was put into the update.

So maybe we are due one last larger pack, but at this point i'm not hopeful anymore.

First i lost my hope on birds a long time ago, now in getting my south american animals and basically in getting more DLCs at all.

I also have Heard somewhen ( I really do not know when and where and If this was a serious source) that Plans were to extend over 200 species. But as important than the Magic number 200 is the Magic number 5 as this would also be a milestone to reach in about 6.5 months. I am much more optimistic than pessimistic regarding further packs.

I'm like 90% sure it's coming in June, on June 25th to be exact. That's 56 days between drops, the same amount of time between the launch of the Twilight and Grasslands Packs.

It’s copium for sure, I do think we will get another dlc. The 200 animals seems like a magic number, this pack seems to have used less resources, the lack of exhibit animals makes the 60 scenery feel like it there to tide us over, gave us a popular but low effort pack. Something’s aren’t adding up, especially since final Frontier packs sell for much more than this.

But I will say this, I know Frontier doesn’t owe us anything, but if they are planning to discontinue support I hope they actually say it this time. To this day Frontiers lack of communication outside of certain scenarios I have found to be a little grating.

Man i really wish frontier would just let the cat out of the bag regarding if this is the final pack.
Honestly I don’t know if I’ll be able to tune in on time, we should spam the comments and see if we can get them to answer.

Or they mentioned something about some big news, while this could mean the dlc, it could mean something else? (Copium for sure)

I really do not think that the Barnyard Animal Pack is the last DLC. I mean, it could be, as we have no hard evidence suggesting another pack.

I just don't think Frontier would end PZ with such a divisive and niche pack. It's also the same price and essentially the same size as a regular DLC. This pack seems more like a quick pack to tie up some loose ends, not a finale.

I guess we'll know once we get an lqa update!

Whether it's the last pack or not, Planet Zoo has had a great run and lasted a good while, much longer than many anticipated.
I mean, almost every pack has been met with high praise and has filled out requested animals, we've received amazing features each update, and the game has just gotten new life with consoles.

If this is the last pack, while I would've preferred South America 2, I'm not mad. After all, I'm finally getting animal-guest interactions, something I've wanted since I began playing back in 2020

This specifically is throwing me off, like why say that it’s bright if there’s only 1 more pack, unless they’re referring to console edition since this was recorded in January.
Most likely referring to the console edition at the time, who knows maybe the dlc schedule will continue with the console season pass length giving us dlc up to winter or next spring. Especially how frontier have mentioned the new dlc is coming at a later date for console.

Right, and they also know console players will watch PC for future DLCs.

Let’s not forget this is the first dlc announced after console release, and it uses some popular animals in a very popular niche. Guest interactivity and domestics have been asked for a long time, console players can watch PC news for future console news. This is as new for them as it is for us.

Of course, Frontier may very well just can the whole thing after this.

Whatever happens i just hope i dont have to see an ungulate ever again :D.
There were still some i kinda wanted, but the absolute flood of them that came over us in the last year of DLC kinda just made me sick of them.

At this point its kinda hillarious how i said a couple days ago im kinda fed up with them and only wanted a very select few and promptly got another batch of 6 coming my way, more than ever before lol.
Maybe i should stop asking for monkeys and ask for more hoofstock since Frontier is kinda doing the exact opposite of what i request  😂
