I don’t actually dislike the barnyard pack, nor do I think all these animals were bad picks (a domestic pack is one of the few where I'm fine with predominantly ungulates, though I wish they weren't almost all UK breeds), but this situation is starting to get so damn memeable at this point.
My thoughts too! For me, it's the goat breed. WHY?! The Nigerian dwarf or Nubian goat were the obvious choices.

You are missing the exhibit animals that will most likely take the place of two of those habitat animals if those packs Indeed happen.

I suppose that at the end of the line exhibit animals aren't very important to fill the "gaps" and can be cut out, in this last dlc there was no exhibit animal

Yeah, I don't mind the others so much (highland cow does nothing for me but its too iconic to leave out - I can completely understand why its a fan favorite - though a Ankole-Watusi would have been leagues more useful), but the (albeit not British, but still European) goat and especially the pig are the big two that bother me. One of the insanely common African goat breeds would have been an infinitely better choice than a niche French breed. The pig I didn't even know existed, though after further research it seems to be only common in the UK. The potbelly and my beloved Kunekune are both significantly more common worldwide and IMO far more interesting. These feel like out of touch picks to me, IDK.

It would be much easier for you all to accept the fact that ungulates would always be an important part of Frontier’s DLC strategy. Then you would not be so disappointed with every next pack that will come out.
Yeah but there is a difference between important part and like 80% of habitat species
Therefore no, i wont stop critizing blantat favoritism of certain animal groups.

And to be clear its not because i dont like ungulates. If we were to get 15 primates in one year on top of an already primate heavy roster while the only ungulates we had were a giraffe, Zebra and two antelopes id be the first one to say: stop the monkey flow and bring some hooves

At this point idk if the next pack will be Latin America, I mean we’ve guessed it like the last 5 times, and while it makes sense this time, it also made sense the last 5 times 😭 I’m switching it up this time around.

Out of the top 6 meta, 2 usually get chosen, Baboon and Secretary both can fit in a theme together, thinking l’ll go with these.

Safari Animal Pack
  • Hamadryas Baboon
  • Secretary Bird
  • Serval
  • Grey Crowned Crane
  • Waterbuck
  • Blackbuck
  • Masai Giraffe
  • Some sort of lizard or snake (E)

Same thoughts here, it’s annoying to have criticism of ungulates hogging (pun not intended) half of the DLC slots equated with not wanting them at all. Are they common? Yeah. Are there some left that would make good additions? Also yeah, but priorities have to be taken when there are limited slots in a roster and when other groups that are just as common exist and are disproportionately neglected. (cough, cough, birds).

What’s also frustrating about the ungulate heaviness is that we know Frontier can do better - they’ve done so in the past. This problem has only been present with the last three animal packs. Only Southeast Asia is really comparable with its reliance on carnivorans. Even Grasslands - which could have easily been loaded with ungulates - only had one pretty good one instead of flooding it with them.

The only ungulates we definitely need at this point are blackbuck, Kirk’s dik-dik and the southern pudú.

Although a couple of deer or bovid species to flesh out regions would be still be nice but not at the expense of raccoon dogs, bush dogs and coatis
