Did they just Google "most common pig/etc. in UK" and take the top result without thinking they should specify "in zoos" and not count slaughterhouse-bound individuals?
Oh boy. This gets better and better by the minutes. So all these breeds are basically bred for meat. In a game that claims to focus on conservation and animal welfare this is beyond funny. And our Hill Radnor Sheep is another giant mostly used as breeding bull to increase lamb size of other hill breeds.... just to get quickly growing tasty lambs lol.
No cause that should still be kunekune atleast regarding zoo representationDid they just Google "most common pig/etc. in UK" and take the top result without thinking they should specify "in zoos" and not count slaughterhouse-bound individuals?
Im sure pig and sheep are vulnerable as far as domestics go, but still these conservation efforts exist only to maintain sustainable food diversity. So yup. You save them from going extcint, just to eat them later.Oh boy. This gets better and better by the minutes. So all these breeds are basically bred for meat. To respect atleast the pig, nowadays its mostly bred for conservation and is seen as one of the uks 7 most endangerd breeds, but the fact that the kunekune and pot bellied also were endangerd breeds bred back from the brink of extinction and both being introduced to zoos starting in england for that reason and spreading to more country for beeing great petting zoo animals heavily muddies that pointOh boy. I guess you could always play that you rescue them from the slaughter house![]()
For continental european representation, I would rather have Turpolje pigs with their colourful patterns or the Mangulica for their short wooly fur coat and different coat patterns. No cause that should still be kunekune atleast regarding zoo representation
They are cuter and funnier and friendlier than Alpine goats.African pygmy goat is not a typical goat breeds. What is your obsession Pygmy goats anyway?
They're very popular in petting zoosAfrican pygmy goat is not a typical goat breeds. What is your obsession Pygmy goats anyway?
Tbh i don't personally care about either haha i never wanted a petting goat. I never really wanted farm animals in general. But knowing nothing about domestic goats the african pygmy is more appealing to me. I can at least place them in a fake african village area in my zoos.Cuter and funnier? It is a very individual observation.
If you would’ve ever met alpine goat you would know that they can also be funny, friendly and cute.
From what I know it’s not a petting zoo pack but a barnyard pack.
I personally think that Pygmy goats are so popular only because they are only breed that people know or saw in the real life.
Its the most common animals in zoos thats why.African pygmy goat is not a typical goat breeds. What is your obsession Pygmy goats anyway?
based on zootier list it is the second most common zoo animal globally it is one of 3 animals on that site to have over 1000 documented holdings and is only barely beat by the peafowl. Compare that to the alpine goat which has less than 10 and is way incredibly similar to the ibex both in name and colour scheme.African pygmy goat is not a typical goat breeds. I can’t remember a zoo barn that doesn’t have Pygmy goats. Not sure where the original post came from.based on zootier list it is the second most common zoo animal globally it is one of 3 animals on that site to have over 1000 documented holdings and is only barely beat by the peafowl. "We gotta get a goat for the Barnyard pack!Turns out random goat picked the perfect time to leave.
Though maybe the goat was a tribute to him?
This isn't the first time they've done something that goes against some common sense. Moreover, an animal that can grow up to 80kg can be injured by adults, let alone children. This breed can reach 80 kg in weight. Look at how big it is in game. It could easily kill unaware kid.![]()

Edit: up to 100kg lmao. This is biggest goat species in the game.
African pygmy goats and Nigerian dwarf goats are by far the most common petting zoo goats and are particularly playful and friendly, while also having the bonus of being able to simulate an African village (I had a concept of an African-themed petting zoo area within an Africa complex with the dromedary, chickens, and goats). Though the Alpine goat can at least stand in for the Nubian goat, another popular African petting zoo goat.Cuter and funnier? It is a very individual observation.

My opinion is that they picked the nearest farm to see what was there and did that, or... did they just pick the variety that had the least difference in appearance from the existing model? It's less work.Did they just Google "most common pig/etc. in UK" and take the top result without thinking they should specify "in zoos" and not count slaughterhouse-bound individuals?
We should know by now that zoo presence is not major choosing criterion for frontier. I also don’t really care if animal is present in zoos or not if it’s interesting enough to enhance the game. A for me all living creatures are species and unique. Sometimes I would like them to add something else but I never accuse them of making bad choices.African pygmy goats and Nigerian dwarf goats are by far the most common petting zoo goats and are particularly playful and friendly, while also having the bonus of being able to simulate an African village (I had a concept of an African-themed petting zoo area within an Africa complex with the dromedary, chickens, and goats). As for the theming, that's part of the problem. I'm fine with domestics but, as an American, I have zero interest in replicating the English countryside in my zoo.
