DLC18 discussion and predictions

CKIII is expecting huge new expansion in summer/autumn. And yesterday (I believe?) there was Dev Diary on the progress.

Aside from dev diary itself, (which almost half of which had game director openly acknowledging and discussing players feedback on previous update/dlc) the game director actively engaged users on forum and went back and forth on what should or shouldn't be in new dlc and what is possible, what are his thoughts and what have developers said and so on...

And of course every game company works differently and God only knows what company can afford what level of transparency for plethora amount of reasons outside their control.

But it was so nice to witness it for a change. I am not too into games besides this two so I don't know how common or rare it is, but I bet it would definitely help with expectations and frustrations in this community if we had a percent of similar communication.

Also don't take this for bootlicking Paradox, however it may sound 😁 I'm very uninvolved with CKIII community (so much so that some DLC took me by surprise) but it was definitely a breath of fresh air.

A mule deer? Excuse me?

But then again this was before all the deer we got later

Coati is also shooketh at the early on exclusion. But..just goes to show That, for mammals anyways the most requested ones now were never really priorities from the start.

That's what happens when you omit Polar Bears, Jaguars, Kangaroos, Rhinos and such from base game.

Mammals will always be way more popular than other types(?) of animals, but when "essentials" are missing people won't even notice other reptiles and birds.

This is off topic but in the case of a sequel what animals from DLCs you think should be included in base game and which from base game (or DLCs) could be removed?

I'm all in favor for more generic and popular species to fill out the base game to give it more variety and give DLCs more flexibility to cover special niches. But I guess that's highly subjective and definitely not as profitable.

Here's a rough idea:

In: Polar Bear, Jaguar, Red Kangaroo, African Rhinoceros, Capybara, Meerkat, Moose, Leopard, Penguin, Sea Lion/Seal...

Out: Pangolin, Gharial, Aardvark, Bonobo, Nyala, Both Ruffed Lemurs, Mandrill, Galapagos Tortoise, Pronghorn, Himalayan Bear (obv), Japanese Macaque...

I think that all but the following should be in the sequel if there is one:

Aldabra Giant Tortoise
Bengal Tiger
Arctic Wolf
Dingo
Himalayan Brown Bear
Alpaca
Llama
Dromedary Camel
Bactrian Camel
Sussex Chicken
Hill Radnor Sheep
Alpine Goat
Highland Cattle
Tamworth Pig
American Standard Donkey

Yes, I included all domestic animals here because I believe that Planet Zoo 2 (if it happens) should focus on wild animals. I’m also against the addition of extra subspecies of existing species when other unique animals could be added instead.
