General Python MkII Feedback

Feedback on the Python MkII (test server):
  1. The exterior is nice and the ship handling is good.
  2. Maneuverability is better than the Python (good).
  3. There's a bug if u throw a grenade or other item at the ship it goes through it.
  4. The gray intake thing below the ship if you look close it should be dark inside, but it's sealed off in the back.
  5. The cockpit is too similar to the Python. Fdev should make it a bit more different from the vanilla Python.
  6. The ship explosion effects should be improved. This is for all ships. The explosion effects are too basic.
  7. FSD with SCO top speed should be higher and use less fuel.
  8. A size 6 power distributor is a bit low. 7 would be good.

I see 2.5 uses:

0.5 average to poor piracy ship (can pack a punch, but internals are a bit meh)
1 med-range combat interceptor (without SCO FSD) [light build]
1 wing fight/organic DPS deliver [shield tank]

That's all PvP, as I don't care about PvE.

More hardpoints but a smaller distributor? Seems a bit backwards especially since the Python I and II are dimensionally almost the same. Also only 98 tons of internal space to the original Python’s 294? At least throw in a couple more Size 5 slots for optioal internals.

I understand sacrifices are made for the extra speed/maneuverability and SCO but I think too much has been taken away on this ship. It’s still a sizable target to hit compared to the ships it’s designed to compete with.

And what are those? Until we get it there's really no judging, the streams we have seen are a) not indicative of the final kit out and b) not really an indication of how in game CMDRS will want to use it.

Plus, it's a new generation of the ship that started being produced in 2700. It's been well over half a millennium!

It should look next-gen.
Which explains why it has taken so little time to come up with a new ship, the designer and their apprentice have been doodling new versions of the entire range only for management to reject the ideas as why keep up with the times as the old stuff still works and sells.

A policy that worked so well for so many long established industries in the twentieth century. /s

The FDL and the Mamba, just like FDev said it was made to compete with. Seems pretty easy to figure out though even without them saying it.

The thing is, it's what people decide to use it for that matters, and for that we will have to wait and see.

I get it. Some people haul cargo in a Sidewinder and some do AX combat in an Orca. Regardless, FDev are pushing this ship as a "combat ship" targeted at PvP and that is what people are expecting. Any suggested changes to the ship are with this factor in mind. Also, if they are giving previews via content creators one week prior to consumption by the general public, the configuration is highly likely to not change. I hope I'm wrong but doubt it.

It isn't a PvP gamechanger in the current version... very likely will replace the Krait in organics, but I don't see how it can take the place of the FDL.

3,800 MJ on a fast medium platform with 80% of the DPS of the Type 10, and the weapons converge well?

I'm personally a fan.

Would be cool if the top bar in the cockpit wasn't there like in the Python (I don't mine the vertical side ones that much) but I'll live either way.
