Just had to kill the process, some controls were working, including FSD, but it simply would not actually jump. I say some because the other control that wasn't working was Esc so I couldn't relog either!

Had a brief sojourn from ED and played another game. I'm doing better now though, thanks, having recovered well and am back, fighting fit, with ground CZ's.

I was afraid you were seeking for peace and meditation in the lotus position, retired on board of one of those agricultural vessels for ever, sipping tea with the high scholars of some remote esoteric small faction.

...But I'm glad to hear you're back to counter the NPC swarm!

No, it didn't mention the voice as I use it too. It said error loading module, that was all, I closed it because I was getting CTD's, now I'm just getting the authentication server login error.

Ah, I see - looks like you won't be the only one as I'm seeing this:

Incidentally, the directory speciified in the link above did have a file of 0kb which I deleted. However, it didn't resolve this latest problem.

EDIT: Carrier jumps at 25 mins for me. Never play on update day

That's okay, as long as the game is playable, I had to reboot my computer to get rid of the plethora of errors I was encountering. I do like the new cinematic, nice change of pace.

It has been a while since I encountered a crater that one has to simply land next to for no reason.

I like the new intro titles. Kinda like a TV show with different scenes playing across them. Though the graphics are quite bad. Like a Quicktime file from the 90's.

It was an interesting day today... I've stumbled upon several star systems that hadn't seen a human ship before. Most of them were just that STAR systems.
But a few showed an odd quirk. After the initial honk on entry, I was informed that there were x bodies in the system. Opening the system map only revealsed some stars and asteroid belts, which were way less than x. The other bodies only showed up after I thoroughly FSSed the system.

Somewhere else, while returning from a gardening tour, I noticed some F.Metallicum preparing to board my ship.

It's not something I'd even noticed until I was 70% through the Jellfish journey. I was charging for supercruise when I realised the honk scan had more bodies than the system map.
Ironically, it was my pride and joy of new system discoveries because it had multiple flat and volcanic surface mining planets, a water world for tourists, and a ringed planet for Tritium etc. I plastered my name all over it.

Though I just noticed the star was discovered by someone else so now I'm bummed out.

I am finally looking into Odyssey engineering.
So now i am trying to gather the right engineering materials to upgrade my suits and weapons, and find out which i can safely sell or trade.
E.D. Odyssey materials helper is my friend in this.
I have yet to unlock my first Odyssey engineer, so i will be making some shuttle rides the next sessions.

That engineer's my first and only one unlocked. Easy enough.

I tried calling the Cobra down to Cubeo so I could collect data on the way back but it said my current ship (Krait II) had too much cargo. I didn't want the Krait because 1.5M CR was extortionate and they said the cargo would be ditched before transport. I didn't mind the last part but why didn't they just ditch the cargo and send me the Cobra instead? Morans.

I ended up logging into Horizons to see if they'd force me into the Krait at my location. It worked. Take that, Fdev!

Been much the same. But likewise, upgrading on-foot stuff and taking Sally into the fray. Okay, battlefield work is not really her scene, but all my other CMDRs are Elite Mercenary! And I have discovered that an AR-50 with Stability and a scope is a thing of beauty

Oh, I love the '50 with stability. I think my main one has reload speed and ammo cap (and something else) as well. I love using an Aphelion to shield strip then swapping to AR-50.

Ray Gateway has the nice full on cyberpunk look. It makes it feel very business friendly.

I was looking at a nice red Mamba in the shipyard but 80M CR isn't enough to go splurging on a non-essential medium ship. I probably wouldn't get further than adding an A-rated shield generator.

I went off a cliff like that the other day (moon day) at 15m/s, I kept my wits about me as I always do and steadied her up and fired off the jump jets and touched down like a feather. Were you able to climb back up like these whacky Icelanders?

Though actually a good point. One presumes we will encounter NPCs in them (they get Cobra MkIVs, after all).

I knew it was a one-way deployment. It was tricky to balance dolphin on top in the first place. That earthy in the video at 1g is doing the moves yep

It seemed to never end via a cascade of subcraters forming ridges and rubble I dunno but the grand canyon saw that crater it'd prolly run scared ah mommy aliens

Or that crater IS the GC's mom

Each far off valley in the distance became obscured and got lost trying to get gotten to. Dusk overtook us and I considered maybe sleep in the SRV. After some more vigorous tumbling and jumping there finally was a parkable plateau and the rest is I forget!

As I understand it PayPal has vetoed using some UK finance rules that FDev are in favour of, but I could be wrong it is at least a year since I last bought Arx.
