Thar she blows...

In more ways than one!

I dont think that is what they were talking about. On the Shroud front werent they talking about low server pop on the theory that CIG was trying to stop the stream snipers. IE not allowing people to join Shroud's server.

And CIG have not been limiting server pops in general. Most of the servers I see are well populated like this.

Once in game, the player count has been broken, i think, since 3.23 came out. And the only way to figure it out is to count the player list down the right.

Depending on what I am doing I either want a high pop or low pop server lol. So I always check. And check the names of who is on the server.
Yeah that's fair, was just passing on what i heard.

That's scummy to sell ships + individual modules for the price of a full game.

Also looking forward to this Idris vs Javelin fight over a planet in the freefly...

These play for free events shows regular gamers how bad SC's gameplay and tech are. It has the opposite effect of getting more players.

And this is why the scam can keep going for a good while yet.

True, but how much damage has CIG done to the reputation of SC by promoting this unfinished, buggy game for free?

It is CIG we are talking about.

Also, just noticed your sig regarding ship interiors. If there's one thing Starfield, X4, and SC have shown us is that ship interiors are a lot less useful and interesting than some people might imagine.

Unless your entire game is in fact ship interiors of course, like Starship Simulator, must try out that game one day.

Pretty sure that CIG has long ago decided that any exposure is good exposure. Of all the people that get to check the broken thing, there will always be a few who decide to buy something. That is a win for CIG even if the vast majority decide to pass. Also remember that one of the main targets here is not really new players but to keep up the buzz and feed the grey and reseller speculative markets.

Remember, we can’t criticize companies who engage in Pay2Win. There’s nothing wrong with companies intentionally putting friction towards playing a game that players have already paid money for, and then offering them the opportunity to remove that friction via money.

Looking forward to the bugs :)

(Might have to wait til it rolls out past one ship though... :/)

Oo, didn't have to wait long :)

Retaliator torpedo modules not coming with torpedoes?

I think they are bugged. Mine came with the default 6 x Argos torps, but I am unable to change them to other types. Others have reported being unable to restock after firing. I guess we will have to wait a bit longer to get our 'talis back.

(Detaching / re-attaching objects within the object container was the blocker before. Torps, work stations etc. Wouldn't be a surprise if they were to jank out 🤷‍♂️)

Starfield interiors are well integrated and really quite "useful" in terms of gameplay. The lone fact that you can board and fight inside is a major keypoint here. Not to mention the game in the game of designing ships.

When it came to Starfield's interiors, I wasn't surprised at all by how I approached my ship's interior. After the initial exploration peroid, I'd hardly ever travel through the interior of my ship, especially once I had a base built and could modify equipment there instead. I also built my ships like I build my bases: the functional parts are as close to the entrance as possible, to minimize the amount of time I spent traveling through spaces devoid of gameplay.

The attraction of ship interiors to me are the ship interiors of other people (NPCs) in the game. Interiors to invade. Interiors to explore. Interiors to salvage. Interiors to have adventures in.

Yeah, just like me. I do like to have viewports to check the conditions outside before disembarking, though. I do like to have panorama room underwater in these building games, so I can watch fish or get annoyed that there aren't any, but space isn't underwater.
Wait, SC does have water level, doesn't it?
