DLC18 discussion and predictions

What species would you choose for this monkey pack format?

Primates I consider "basics":
  • New World:
    • Golden Lion Tamarin
    • Geoffroy's Spider Monkey
    • Black Howler Monkey
    • Cotton Top Tamarin
    • Squirrel Monkey
    • Emperor Tamarin
    • Tufted Capuchin
  • Old World:
    • Guereza
    • Baboon
    • De Brazza's Guenon
    • Grey Langur
    • Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey
    • Barbary Macaque
    • Lion Tailed Macaque
If I could only pick seven to just cover basic species, I'd probably choose:
  • Golden Lion Tamarin
  • Geoffroy's Spider Monkey
  • Black Howler Monkey
  • Cotton Top Tamarin
  • Mantled Guereza
  • De Brazza's Guenon
  • Hamadryas Baboon
I see a ton of tamarins and African tropical monkeys, so those four picks would add something for those niches, which need more than one thing. I think a baboon is super important and would have a totally different habitat than anything else in the game right now. Howler monkeys would add a neat primate option with chorus behavior, and the spider monkeys would add a South American animal that can brachiate. Both of them plus the tamarins and white-faced capuchin would equal a more passable South American primate roster for me. An Indian monkey, GSNM, and Barbary macaque seem important to their respective regions, but I don't see them nearly as often in zoos. The other South American monkeys would be great to have, too. Honestly, the honorable mentions seem so basic to me, too, but with limited slots, I'm trying to pick what I need for "typical" zoos near me.

Yeah that's pretty much what was mentioned, the announcement has a slim chance since the steamdb is relatively quiet for an upcoming announcement and no exciting news for planet zoo is mentioned in the stream post so don't expect much. Console players will likely get their next bundle announcement since July was speculated for the next dlc release for them.
3 months every PC DLC RELEASE
2 months for every CONSOLE DLC BUNDLE

In my opinion I would just get one tamarin then leave the rest for modding get a spider monkey and then mod the Mexican and yutucan spider monkeys, howler monkey is needed as their sound effects are amazing. Golden snub nosed monkeys is going to be great for the Chinese player base, Hamadryas can be modded but players want an official one, Squirrel monkey could be official, Guereza is also a want same with De Brazza's.

After being very very close up with a Squirrel Monkey today, they’ve moved up from “don’t want it” to “semi-want / wouldn’t mind it”, still need larger monkeys though like spider or howler.
Squirrel monkeys are cute fellas and are underrated just that people want large monkeys as someone even said by I quote "squirrel monkeys are the same as capuchin just looks different" 💀

Well not always the case for pc releases, this year the console version delayed pc dlc by a month so the schedule is messed up.
All I'm asking from Planet Zoo is just 3 more packs and bring Planet Zoo its 5th anniversary with 1 new habitat and 1 exhibit species.
With the total of 27 being added from all 3 packs with Summer if threes any being the Latin America Pack/Equatorial Pack/Island/Savannah Pack.

Once again, I believe there will be no flying birds added only terrestrial birds.
What I think Planet Zoo should add in their free updates is a Nocturnal House Modular area like with Souvenir shops with its own customizable features and able to add medium/small sized animal habitats for the aardvark, kiwi or the fennec fox.
Nocturnal houses will be very beneficial for the game as it will bring the much-needed realism as many zoos have nocturnal houses. If they can do animal interactions and they can't do birds at least give us a Nocturnal House.

For the Animal Packs at least just give us some of the needed planet zoo Wishlist animals as the Spider Monkey, any tree kangaroo, tamarins, howler monkey, American black bear, walrus, Secretary bird, a baboon.

The problem with Planet Zoo is that instead of a gelada or hamadryas they will give us an olive baboon, which I won't be mad with as they are quite enjoyable, same with spider monkey and howlers, they might just give us a squirrel monkey or woolly as they see we want south American animals.

Equatorial Animal Pack:
  • Coquetries Sifaka {Main Headliner}
  • Hamadryads/Gelada
  • Honey badger
  • Secretary Bird
  • Black Howler monkey
  • Black Buck
  • Coati
  • Golden Lion Tamarin [WTE]

  • Nocturnal Animal Pack:
    • Aye-Aye {Headliner of the Pack}
    • Potto/ Pygmy Slow Loris
    • Serval

    • African Civet
    • Southern Tamandua
    • Prehensile-Tailed Porcupine/Owl Monkey
    • Tokay Gecko/Naked Mole Rat
    • 20 Building pieces of Signs and Texts

    • Free Update Content
    • A new mechanic called the Nocturnal House where you can expand or change it to however you like with its own custom enclosure gates to put in your night loving creatures. You can customize the Nocturnal house with you being able to change the UV light color or how it looks.
      - You can also use past DLC and base game animals like the Aardvark, Kiwi, Porcupine or the Armadillo.
Island Animal Pack:
  • Goodfellows Tree Kangaroo
  • Short Beaked Echidna
  • Coquerel's Sifaka
  • Walrus
  • South Rock Hopper Penguin
  • Hawaiian Goose
  • Brown Pelican
  • Blue Iguana [E]

    Anniversary Animals {5th Anniversary so it could be bigger with 2 habitat animals and 1 exhibit.}
    • American Flamingo
    • Nile Crocodile
    • Any type of Exotic Exhibit animal like a sengi or dormouse
Keeper Collection Managers Pack
  • American Black Bear [Headliner of the Pack]
  • Great White Pelican
  • Mandarin Duck
  • Gelada
  • Geoffroy's spider monkey
  • African Leopard
  • Sea Otter
  • Aye-aye
  • Scarlet Ibis
  • Bush Dog
  • Greater Rea
  • Serval
  • Shoebill
  • Exhibit Creature
    • Jacksons Chameleon
    • Birds {probably will sneak in a bat}

I know that I keep on reposting this, but I think this could be a good way to end planet zoo with a rocking ending to it.

Talking about steamdb. Yeah PZ steamdb is still updating

Squirrel monkeys are so much cuter than capuchins! They just didn't get the Hollywood fame.

I check the SteamDB at least once a week and those three files are constantly being updated/worked on. It's great that the game is constantly being supported, but this isn't a sign of upcoming DLC yet. We've got to wait for the fqa and lqa files to know that a new DLC pack announcement is a few weeks away.

Same with gorillas and chimpanzees, gorillas were viewed as aggro and psychotic killers, also with the shark and dolphin.

You never know the true intent of an animal like Adelie penguins or Chimpanzees or the dolphin.
Like how Adelie penguins tried to reproduce with a dead female or like how chimpanzees eat bush babies and don't try to kill but instead try to inflict as much pain as possible.
All animals have their good sides but the ones that are seen as the good ones in zoos can act MUCH WAY MORE DIFFERENT in the wild.
Never forget what Dolphin's do in the wild...💀
