DLC18 discussion and predictions

If this DLC is the final DLC they should remaster all the base game and older dlc animals with the quality and tech they have now.
I don't think it will be the last DLC, to be honest. I can see them doing DLC until the end of the calendar year at least, and maybe even until the end of next year.

I always say to myself this is not the end and I hope its true as Planet zoo is both a win to the player base and frontier.
Player base gets fun and unique animals every 3 months, frontier gets cash.

If planet zoo life continues until Planet Coasters 2 release date then ill be perfectly happy as that release will be in 2025/2026.

If I was a worker and could make decisions I would drive in an Latin America Pack to fulfill that massive want of South American Creatures. Then do some Equatorial to get some meta Wishlist animals in with some farther down the line animals too. Then release Modular Nocturnal Houses for the players with less building skills then others so they can enjoy Nocturnal houses with an Nocturnal animal pack. Then as 5th Anniversary it would be a clone animal like an American flamingo or Nile Crocodile, do an temperate animal pack to grab in the Chinese alligator and Golden Snub Nosed monkey for the Chinese community and for asian zoos while also fulfilling the American Black bear. Probably then will do a Pacific Northwest Pack with 300+ pacific northwest pieces with sea otters, wapiti, walrus or elephant seal, mountain goat and rough skinned newt then release a keepers collection pack with all the leftover meta Wishlist wants.

Pelican and walrus and even the tree kangaroo and specially the coati only need some add ons in animations and behaviours and some modifications of already existing rigs, they are not as complexed as they seem to be. Just add something to the swan rig for the pelican beak/swalling animations, climbing and arboreal preference for a long-tailed tree-climbing quokka and literally any climbing animal with a long tail could serve as base for the coati.

Spider monkeys seem more complex and so do the secretary birds.
The vast majority of animals people say are "complex" are actually not at all complex given what we already have. They would all need extra work but its tweaks/adjustments rather than starting purely from scratch. The walrus and tree kangaroo are both great examples of this. Even something like the pelican and secretary bird... They would need new animations rather than just adapting old ones but it's still nothing that feels unachievable.

I might argue the same for most monkeys except that a lot of them have far more unique movements that I suspect might make them more of a challenge (but still potentially feasible within reason).

They've said they have three new games coming in fiscal year 2025, 2026, and 2027. It's important to note that the fiscal years for Frontier aren't our calendar years. Their fiscal year runs from June 1st through May 30th each year. So we're already in fiscal year 2025.

Which means that Planet Coaster 2 could come as early as this holiday season (which is what I'm currently thinking). So you could technically be right... And the next pack could still be the last one until PlanCo2 gets released. Yet another reason why I'm not expecting anything until the fall...

If we happen to get a pack sometime in July or whatever, then I think something in the fall would be feasible in addition to it. But I am highly doubting that we see anything in July with the outsource_lqa still being M.I.A.

The problem with the walrus is its tweaks needed in animation and getting its textures that it has in real life, like the hair on its mouth or the way its swim. The skin texture is the hardest as they have to show the hard blubber while also making the skin look hard. Just look at any Walrus Image online.

The thing with Planet Zoo and Frontier is their very tight in their information they release unless someone leaked confidential info.
They are mysterious when it comes to releasing DLCS, before Eurasia you would probably know when theirs a new dlc as theirs a livestream but now with all of those community managers gone we now have elite dangerous workers telling us sneak peeks 🤦‍♂️
Frontier is not predictable at all with the closest thing for us predicting is how they launch a dlc every 3 months that's it but now that's changed now that console ruined the schedule.
I don't think Planet zoo will be ending in fiscal year 2025 as that will hurting their cash inflow unless that game is planet coaster 2, but thats not happening as Planet Coaster 2 is probably releasing Fiscal 2026 or Fiscal 2027. If planet coaster 2 releases in this fiscals year then planet zoo is doomed and this is our last pack.

What I think as a theory is that since Planet Zoo Console edition screwed the dlcs up by making them need an extra month, we may be seeing just 3 dlcs a year BUT comes with 8 new animals or 7 animals and 60 pieces. I think they quit their pack now and their focusing on animal packs now just to finish up this game.

There are three games in the works at Frontier. And we already know the next Jurassic World game is slated for the 2026 slot. We also know from at least one source that PlanCo2 is very likely on the way and is all but announced... Which means the FY2025 game is pretty likely PlanCo2 and if patterns follow then it will be released before the holidays to boost sales.

Unfortunately, all of the evidence leads to PZ ending sooner rather than later.

While i dont have any data, if league of legends has told me anything then that pandering to chinese audiences seems to bring big buck.
Generally if we should actually get another year of support id be in full support of a pack that panders hard to the chinese, make it a china scenery pack with the golden pheasent, voldemort monkey, either peeres david deer or reveese muntjak and either the tanuiki, yellow throated marten or any other cooler animal im not thinking of right now + the chinese water dragon as the exhibit and some gorgeous chinese inspired scenery and you not only got lots of cash on your hand but also a most likly generally very well recieved pack.
Especally scenery wise theres so much that frontier could do with a revisit to the asian theme so im confident that especally the builders would jump on such a pack for the pieces alone
This game still lacks many representative Asian animals, and I don't understand why so many Chinese players still haven't received a unique DLC? If you want to know the purchasing power of Chinese players, you can go to many other games to see it.
《The Hunter: Call of the Wild ™ - The Sundarpatan Hunting Reserve》 has already sparked a craze in China

Squirrel monkeys are so much cuter than capuchins! They just didn't get the Hollywood fame.

I check the SteamDB at least once a week and those three files are constantly being updated/worked on. It's great that the game is constantly being supported, but this isn't a sign of upcoming DLC yet. We've got to wait for the fqa and lqa files to know that a new DLC pack announcement is a few weeks away.
Are you slandering my Man Mr nillson?

In fact, throughout the China forums of PZ,Our needs are actually the same as everyone here.
Everyone needs South America species and flying birds and monkeys the most.
On this basis, many representative animals from Chinese zoos are needed, such as snub-nosed monkey,Chinese Alligator,Père David's Deer,Pheasant,Chinese Muntjak and other chinese animals。
This is a common wish of Chinese players

May i ask what are the biggest differences in what people want?
Any standout animals that are much more popular on either forum?

First,Actually, the vast majority are the same as here, with priority given to birds and South America.
The difference is that we lack many species to represent Chinese zoos,So this is what Chinese players urgently need. And, we believe that North America and Europe have become almost complete.Meanwhile. And the vast majority of people want PZ2.
Second:Most of the desired species are similar to those on the META-WISHLIST.
Secretary bird,Manatee,Hamadryas Baboon,South American monkey,Hare,Pallas's Cat
