Its on sale. Is it worth the sales price?

Normally I'd say no because it's only available through Steam or the Microsoft Store, but if you don't have a problem with Steam, I do think it's worth the price. I don't think anything is worth the price of using the Microsoft Store and the Store version is harder to mod.

Well, she at least can become a crew member and has a more fleshed out story with her father than most other non-Constellation crew.

Andreja is my go to I have the constellation on crew but Sarah always leaves and I don't really interact with them .
If it's on sale yeah go for it you will get a few hours of fun play before the repeating poi and missions ( I have 1000hr + ) starts to drag and becomes boring. Pity really it promised so much. Some main missions are still borked with no hope of being fixed . I'm on NG10.and still haven't managed to complete the ECS missions

Dunno? What is the sales price? If you want a hot clone lady with red eyes that fights huge alien monsters with you I'd say it is very much worth the price. I wish they had made Hadrian a full companion.
I didn't check today buts a little less than 47 buckaroos. I looked on some vids about characters in SF and I didn't see a red eyed damsel to run with. But I'll keep looking.
;)
Jaded I won't be when I get SF. I have specific reasons why I'll get it and ... unlike many on steamforums, I don't expect it to be the best game ever for space nuts like I.
It hurts to read that stuff on steam so I quit. mostly

So, I assume with the Creation Kit and since I don't see any Steam(tm) workshop stuff it's that Bethesda insists on their approach to unilaterally distribute mods? Why? So they can bill us later at some point? I'm not paying for stuff the corpos legally pirate from players.

It seems to be the same situation as with Fallout 4 -- the in-game Creations menu is there but isn't required except for certain paid Bethesda mods (such as the Tracker Alliance quest).

You can ignore that and use external modding software such as Vortex and get most of your mods from Nexus. No need to pay, and more control over what's happening.

That's how I've been doing it.

Does the Vortex help with update cycles? It's a pain to do it all manually. Usually I prefer Steam Workshop to browse mods and select them. Just for ease of use.

Yeah, it has a "check for updates" that you can run on each mod, or all mods, and if there's a new version you can then download and install. Works with SFSE and all that sort of stuff, too.

When a new version of Starfield arrives, I just wait a couple days then run the "check update" stuff to see if my mods have been updated yet. I don't launch from Steam until I'm fairly sure my mods will work with the new version. Of course sometimes stuff still breaks, but that's modding for you.

Vortex has a bizarre interface, but once you get used to it, it works pretty well. It's easier than doing it manually, anyway. At least I think so :)

Creations has broken Starfield for me for good. Ever since they came out, I have lost control over the load order of the mods, MO2 and the game compete, many things just don't work. With that I won't be buying the DLC either.

Meh, I've realised that already have the DLC anyway, as I bought the deluxe version of the base game. I guess it's uninstall and reinstall agin, this time trying out Vortex instead of MO2.
