Evos continue to plumb the depths of 3.24...

Server performance
US-070: zombie state with many elevator issues. Eventually 30K.
US-090: it was OK until hard 30K
US-010: 30K before I even was able to join the server.
US-070: hard 30K after 10 minutes
US-030: even though there was no crash - it was still pretty rough.

Freight Elevators
  • After a series of server crashes, I lost all the cargo I had at SCU-1.
  • Buying new cargo at SCU-1 caused the elevator to complete break again and I was unable to retrieve any cargo.
  • The times of quick parking your ship outside NB to offload some cargo are over.
* It's no longer possible to easy loot the bodies of slain enemies. But there is a way to store the loot at a different location than a planetary cities or space station. Fly the bodies to an outpost; dump them in the elevator and then select open inventory. Then you can drag the items on the elevator. You do need to remove the body but then you can store it at an outpost. However, if you do it with more than one body it looks like the elevator cannot deal with it. Also, it's annoying that the tractor beam doesn't work inside the elevator.

Storage Access
- Looting enemies is tedious.
* You should be able to move items from a loot box directly on the floor.

Inventory
- All items are too large. They should be scaled down a bit.

Tractor beams
- It's still not possible to TB bodies with a ship - it will state mass exceeded: a body weighs only 70 KG?

Nomad
- All the bodies from a bunkers mission fell of the cargo deck when I retracted the cargo deck in-flight.

Mole
+ I can transfer the mining head inside the freight elevator.
- It's not possible to store Argo Ore Pods inside the cargo elevator.

Prospector
- I can remove the Prospector's Pods. While adding putting the Argo Ore Pods on the Prospector, it exploded. I tried again and I noticed the indicator for the pods is 2 meters below the holder. I stored the ship and then went back to the vehicle manager and I noticed the pods weren't saved. I experienced the same with the standard Prospector Pods so it's likely a bug

To be fair, Kerbal Space Program 2 was not conceived before 2017.
It did start out with similar problems as SC, though. A starry-eyed Artist Director with a grand vision and a belief that the tech will come together later.
Not to mention the Evil AAA Publisher Corporation that made it all more difficult by ordering complete secrecy. Potential hires could not be told what they would be working on.

A sad story. I only spent 50€ on it and it was worth a try.
Maybe CIG could...
The original studio sold the IP off to Private Division (Take2). I never found the announcements very believable. It's all been a hype for MP KSP the corpos greedily incorporated into their marketing, because they all have seen EA and Rockstar gobble piles of money with MP mtx. The original engine wasn't up to the task and another engine wasn't available. Nor was there competent staff for the project. It's often the same old story - it's hype for going MP and then noone has enough clue how to do it. Yah, basically the SC story but honestly: it's a story that's been happening repeatedly the last 20 years. Heck, even FD didn't have enough know-how for MP - they managed the technical challenge fine but went total nots for gamedesign.

Food poisoning cases still occurring...

Black Screen when eating / drinking

Anyone else suffering with this?

Eat/Drink then cause your character to black out and screen go black. F4 shows me faceplanting the floor. No way of getting up or out of it unless I relog.

Is this just to keep backers hopeful that server meshing will be finished soon without a release date?
Players that actually "tested" the thing probably know better.

But if I was an investor with a Damocles sword hanging above a developer, this is the kind of video that would restore faith in my investment and would disuade me from exercising a put option that could potentially bankrupt the developer! Everything is awesome!

My bad, I thought the comments were about Star Citizens and the video was drawing parallel.

Should have known citizens would never say that about their BDSSE.

I'm curious if the future had caught up with Star Citizen. Is it performing better now vs back when they were paving the way for PC gaming?
Is the game running better with improved codes or technology made it more playable by now or about the same?

What if it was the same problem than when quitting a physics grid to another? The moment the chocolate bar or the booze quits its container it suddenly gets a ginormous velocity value killing the player in the process. :)

I'm betting on bland products setting them to: Fire: -1

Talking of physics grids tho, there are a ton of these 'exit booms' at the mo too...

Would be interesting to know what's driving all these different immolations (outside of hangar doors, major desync). Patch is just riddled with issues.

Really?
I see you guys talk about bugs, but I figure overall performance should be better?

Hard to quantify.

Client frames have improved in recent years on the whole. (Outside of some key locations, like the new surface bases, due to a depreciated in-house tool).

But server performance has stayed bad and arguably got worse in new and exciting ways recently (leaving the game FPS as somewhat moot).

And if you try and play in the large Xeno event, both are bad ;)

SC has a habit of eating its own gains ;)
