DLC18 discussion and predictions

Here's an idea, what if we're getting the same number of animals to that of the DLCs that has been released thus far; technically complementing the previous DLCs with each species matching the themes. It could work both ways for either an aviary pack or a keeper's collection pack.

Here's an example

Idk seems like restricting the roster to much for me.
Like if you want to include a SA monkey, coati and another tropical south american animal you run into problems pretty fast

Oh trust me, it gave me a headache too😅
Like putting blackbuck over Masai giraffe, or a secretary bird over a hamadryas baboon. Though personally I'd prefer the prior even though I put Masai giraffe for example 🤣🤣.
But then it'd be a plausible way to tie a bow on PZ before it's sequel.
Plus it doesn't have to be all habitat animals; like half of it being WTE or Ex animals, but I guess that'd trigger a different debate yeah? 😅😅

Yeah, i mean i highly doubt we would see more than 10 animals in a final pack anyways

flying birds are impossible, would like charliexgamings dlc speculation to happen
But with 4 extra habitat species and 1 exhibit to sum it up

CharliesXGaming DLC Speculation:
Hamadrya's Baboon [Brings an African baboon, which can be used in many ways with rocky areas for a primate]
South American Coatimundi {I prefer white nosed but ight}
Black Howler Monkey [Another Primate that is beloved bring my screaming monkey]
Great White Pelican [Brings another waterfowl]
Serval/Ocelot [Both are good, though Serval had the chance to shine in Grasslands pack]
Black Buck [Perfect, needed Indian antelope]
Markhor [An amazing ungulate that climbs in the himalayas, would be perfect in an area with Snow Leopard]
King Cobra [Brings a wanted exhibit to the game] [E]
Check his video out btw :)

If I could make the pack feel like that bigger dlc, that would be pretty good.

Pacific Walrus [3rd pinniped, can build many unique tundra enclosures with possible enclosures for Ice themed areas]
Rock Hyrax/Patagonian Mara [Brings an animal which is a small/medium animal that can be used in many ways allowing you to make Rocky enclosures/Savannah for these cute guys]
Secretary Bird [Brings a terrestrial African bird that's very much wanted from Zoo tycoon 2.]
Mastchie's Tree Kangaroo [Brings the tree kangaroo to tie up Oceania no need to explain]
Tamarin {WTE} [Comes with 5 different tamarin variants like the butterflies for a much needed third primate for this pack]

Now here’s a question, if, and I mean a big IF. This final dlc finally gives us WTE birds (cant stress this enough I am not counting on it and wouldn’t recommend expecting it) what species would you expect? I was trying to think of what birds I have seen in walk through aviaries in real life, or at least open concept bird houses (no windows). Here is what I have:

  1. Scarlet macaws
  2. Budgies
  3. Conures
  4. Rainbow lorikeet
  5. Inca turns
  6. Turacos
  7. Sunbitterns
  8. Aracaris (species of toucan)
  9. Zebra finches
  10. Inca terns
  11. Scarlet ibis
  12. American flamingos
  13. More duck species than I can remember
  14. Yellow billed stork
  15. Hamerkop
  16. Madagascar sacred ibis
  17. Ocellated turkey
  18. Night Heron
  19. Roseate spoonbill
  20. Cattle egret
  21. Sea birds like an oystercatcher
That’s everything off the top of my head. Basically the birds that are “safe” for people to walk around. What do you guys think it could be (besides the obvious answer of nothing).
I just want a kea so, so bad lol. I've never seen guests allowed with them internationally but they're very common in walkthroughs in NZ. I was surprised to see just how common they are in Europe though (74 holdings)!

Cockatoos (not counting the also super important but very different niche-wise cockatiel) also seem like the often forgotten sister to macaws for the niche of a large parrot, but are imo equally as essential. They're a key animal for Australasia, iconic, ridiculously common worldwide, and have loads of different options for species. I'd say the big three are:

Sulphur crested, which is arguably the most recognizable (195 holdings on ZTL only counting non-specific subspecies):

Although the much smaller galah is my personal favorite. (210 holdings on ZTL):

Or there's the goth cousin, the palm cockatoo (50 holdings on ZTL only counting non-specific subspecies):

The galah and sulphur crested would be the most important to get in a potential sequel in my opinion (or one in a final pack for PZ1, but I just don't see it happening unfortunately), and are different enough to warrant including both, whether (hopefully) in a base game or split into different packs.

this may be the last DLC, many things have been announced for it to be the last one. Planet Coaster 2 Announcement, Extra month then usual to probably get more animals into the roster then usual, the announcing of it that has never been done before.
Yeah, sad ending. Maybe the roster will be excellent and will make almost everyone happy or its going to be a crashing meteor and we get a regular dlc, 1 bird, 1 primate and some ungulates with one odd ball being an ocelot or honey badger

Planet Coaster 2 looking great. Not sure what anyone expected regarding graphics, I think it is as good as it can be considering they probably want to keep the cheerful, cartoony style. The real question for me is if the previous coasters and scenery items will be available, if not, then it is kind of a bummer.
imo I'm not buying planet zoo 2 sequel as they are probably gonna make us repay for all the dlcs or they will just move them into base game which means all the dlc's were for nothing, I might get PZ2 just for birds but im good for now.

Though I will buy PC2 because i've never played the game.

Hey guys, haven't been here in a while. SO... has the steamdb been updated, PC2 looks cool, I saw something about pigeons. Fill me in.
Nothing much to fill in about really.
The pigeons have been spotted in a screenshot from PC2, pretty safe to assume they are ambient animals, whether or not they also walk around or just fly across the sky ever now and again is everyones guess. The second options is imo the more likely one.

The telling steamdb update is yet to be made and we didnt get any news in the recent stream either, apart from that africa+grasslands is the next console bundle

It does tell us a lot about what to expect from a possible Planet Zoo 2. One of the most requested DLC for PlanCo was water parks, and now they are using this as the main selling point for a second installement. It's not shocking, it's reaffirming that aquatics & flying birds will probably be hold back for Planet Zoo 2 as selling point.

About what we can expect from PZ2 looking at PC2:
1. The same cartoonish look will not be abandoned, being, very clearly, the identity signature of Frontier, between the two games being a clear connection.
2. Flying birds and habitats for birds will be the headline "I heard and listened to you"!
3 It is uncertain whether a new game category for marine animals will be allocated, although it seems very easy to implement. A marine zoo park is not at all impossible.
4. We will see if the game mechanics will be completely changed. What I would like to see is the climbing mechanism to be completely redone so that it looks as natural as possible. Then I hope that the intersection of animals (for 2024 is really unacceptable!) will disappear for good. Animals can naturally avoid each other, I'm sure there is some level of programming to make the interaction between animals seem very natural!
4. I hope the mechanics of animal administration will be improved. Another way can be created to bring new animals into the habitat, not carrying large boxes in the arms, maybe a building with this role, maybe another way closer to reality to bring the animals into the habitat.
5. Let's hope that the possibility of having more entrances to the habitat will open up. A closer approach to the reality of zoo administrations will be beneficial, both from a game and educational perspective.
What do you think should be changed in order for Planet Zoo 2 to be up to expectations and an exciting offer to buy?

I feel like it would be too big game if Planet Zoo 2 was better in animal animations, animal behaviour, interactions, flying birds AND marine animals...
I feel they could go 'listen to the fans' in the way of making separated game for marine park, especially now when they made water themed PlanetCoaster. But not everything in one. Either it would be some natural park/safari enhanced edition with better animal behaviour and flying birds, or it would be marine game with fish and manatees and dophines and mermaids and idunnowhatelse people asked for. Zoo can be separated from marine animals but cannot be separated from aviaries.
I think Frontier is planning to give us 'some' birds, not as big revolutionary flying system we hoped for, but would be something smaller, like bats in WTE with several different species like butterflies and then they would feel accomplishments they gave us the birds. And Planet Zoo 2 as that would happen waaaaay waaaay later if even. Bcs Marine themed Planet Zoo would most likely sell better now than immediate PZ2 sequel.
