If last pack turns out to be just a coastal pack, even with pelican and all, i Will honestly loose it.
Honestly I would be hyped by a coastal pack, but I completely understand why you of all people wouldn’t be excited for it. Maybe we could get the greater Rhea as the anniversary animal?
Though I will say, I’m excited by the idea of a coastal pack mainly by having the chance of giving us a ton of birds. Knowing how Frontier might actually do the pack is a different story.
Coastal pack could be possible, PC2 is heavily aquatic themed might be a teaser with a Coastal Expansion with 16 new animals that can be found in Seas, Oceans and freshwater areas with 180+ Scenery Pieces and 30 new Aquatic/Coastal Foliage.
If they do it, it would be 20$ and include the West Indian Manatee, Sea Turtles, Walrus, Sea Otter, Pelicans, while also adding coastal birds like American Flamingo, and other world wide sea birds like Puffins, King Eider.
Yes, it could be seen as a bad ending but it could bring fully aquatics and a brand new way to build habitats while also bringing the very needed birds to the game.
14 Habitat Animals being Walrus, Sea Otters, West Indian Manatee, Pelicans, Sea Turtles and many coastal birds with an oddball mammal
2 Exhibits being Pirahna's and Sea Horse

Well tbh i would probably love every animal in a coastal pack (like sea otter and pelican are among my most wanted and while the walrus is not something i personally need it would be a cool addition to the game and is pretty iconic) BUT next pack is probably the last so if turns out to be that then that would mean no chance of any of my favorites to make it in.
Yeah I get that, like if we get a coastal pack I most likely won’t get a duck unless they pick an oddball choice like an eider.
We also won’t get any monkeys either, the only monkey that swims along mangrove coasts is already in game. Maybe if we are lucky we could get a macaque species, or a baboon. Both have species/troops known to feed alongside the coast. Granted what we need above all else is a new world monkey.
To be honest, I’m at a complete loss of what the next pack could be. The more I think about it Coastal/ Zookeeper/ Americas/ New World all seem just as likely as any other.
Really? Weird, I still really think Keeper Collection is the most likely, Latin America / New World as runner up and the rest come after that.
imo the birds they choose in a coastal pack should be Southern Rockhopper Penguin, Atlantic Puffin, King Eider, American Flamingo/Scarlet Ibis, Great White Pelican and Victoria's Crown Pigeon.
I see New World pack is most likely, pack like Eurasia but more bigger for the final pack with 5 animals from North America and 8 animals from Latin America combined with 12 new species and 180+ scenery pieces and some foliage.
Basically North America Scenery Pack and an Latin America Animal pack into one.
Part of my reasoning is that last year they followed a pattern of visiting every major continent. Which leaves the Americas as they were left almost untouched. Minus the peccary and the sloth of course. Which is why I think a New World/ Latin America/ Americas is likely.
The barnyard pack really made me realize frontier can and will go against the current top meta wishlist. While there are a ton of awesome animals left on the top of that list (coati, baboon, secretary bird, etc.) Frontier is also likely to pick a pack that is from a more requested theme, and people always like aquatic animals.
Now with all that being said, following JWE2’s last dlc a keeper pack is still incredibly likely. It would cover the most amount of animals and can also give everyone a little bit of everything. At this stage I don’t think a full bird pack is gonna happen at all, likewise a full monkey pack or a mixed monkey/ bird pack.
I’m just trying to think outside of the box, Frontier usually likes to surprise us. For better or worse…….
What if the Secretary Bird is 5th anniversary gift, we get a new world animal pack with 13 new animals from both Latin America and North America like Coati, Howler, ABB, Sea Otter, Walrus, Rhea, Mara and others with 180+ scenery pieces may be a bad end for some players but imo its a decent game ending.
I was one of those optimistic people who was certain Frontier would keep developing Planet Zoo for a couple dlcs longer, but after the PC2 trailer I've lost all hope for that. And honestly I'm more okay with it now, since I am getting excited to build coasters instead. Which is why I feel certain that they won't keep developing Planet Zoo past the next dlc, because it would just compete with PC2. I'm also guessing that the success of PC2 is going to futher encourage them to just come up with a sequel for Planet Zoo with all the birds and aquatics we always wanted. Sigh. Not how I wanted it to be but realistically I'll probably still buy everything and love all their games lol.
Personally I don’t see the secretary bird as a likely anniversary gift, at this point it’s a betting game which animals will be left for a sequel. No matter how large this dlc is, the likely hood of it fixing the diversity of some of the animals is very low. Now while I do think Frontier is listening, the likelihood is that it will be an average sized animal pack. Where we will most likely get a monkey and a bird. I will be very happy if we get more than that. That’s not even me considering rodents and habitat reptiles either. Or even other animals that are from the “better represented groups”, like the Pallas cat, Andean Bear, Blackbuck, etc.
Secretary feels like last pack material to me. Depends on the complexity of the other inclusions.
But what if its made on the backbone of imported content from planco2 and therefor not the last dlc but just an "extra" to capatalise twice on some of planco2 new stuff?
Unironically till now coastal pack has allways been niche, but this alone makes me consider it as one of the most likly additions if dlc should continue past 1 more
they could grab all the aquatic themed things from PlanetCo2, get us a ton of sea birds and those new amazing coastal foliage that was seen in the trailer with sea otters and walrus being added
I mean you had me at sea birds. I just got to hope Frontier allows birds to be pack filler.
Also hot take, but besides the walrus I think a Southern Hemisphere pinniped would be perfect. I would go with the South American sea lion but you could easily twist my arm on any other. If I was Frontier I would make the “Coastal Pack” as wide ranging as possible.

yeah pretty much. Walrus, seaotter, some seabird like the masked lapwing or an oystercatcher and a 4. mystery animal thats either another bird like the pelican or a penguin, another piniped or something more crazy like the crab eating macaque (inhabits coastal mangrove forests) or the manatee. Add a crab in the exhibit and thats a banger line up
Then i would be very happy with it.
Sea otter, pelican, puffin, walrus, rockhopper, heck even american flamingo would all be welcomed then haha
That would be fantastic news. If we get a dlc in August there would be just enough time in the year to have one more dlc around the anniversary/ holiday season.
Maybe at the time of the unlocked stream we may get “and one more dlc is coming, so stay tuned”. Wishful thinking I admit but it would be nice. Started with 3 dlc one year, finished with 3 dlc on the 5th year.
