It's an easy story line , humanity prevails even against a technological superior and older race because well humans are the saviour race.
Everyone likes a good war if it wasn't thargoids it would be each other.
We are the chosen ones and it's our land so we can take your land and kill you because we are the chosen ones. History repeats the historians weep .

THIS is how the game is designed, because it is for humans. I do not know a single real Thargoid who plays ED.

What remains are philosophical questions. We are humans and we act human, we think human and we operate in the human psychological and physiological boundaries. Very few and very blessed representants of our species know deep within theirselves, that we are the pest, plague, the demons, the vermin of the galaxy... and that any higher creature has not only the right but the responsibility to extinguish us for the greater good of the universe.

Honestly just from seeing the posts and the RP stuff on this post, I'd love to seen FDev release a Galnet where a reporter interviews people who don't think thargoids should be outright exterminated. A Pro-Xeno Galnet would be interesting to see

IMO, the words you write are obviously sarcastic or representative only of your in-game character, not yourself.

Most certainly my game character, the real me is almost nice...

I normally play lawful characters in RPG games, and, indeed, for my first 2 years of ED was squeaky clean....
Then I discovered notoriety...

IRL I'll go out of my way to help, be friendly, and be there when needed. I even treat my dogs well! (2 little princesses, the older one even has her own Royal Carriage - which is pushed by her human lackey!)

Someone pointed out what evil means. Basically, yes, we are judged by earthly standards. Maybe by Thargoid standards, we're saving them.

Well, yeah, I think what the powers have done is wrong by earthly standards. As for if Thargoids secretly like being invaded and shot at? That would conflict with effectively everything we've seen of their actions, and require the Guardians to have really misunderstood their communications, and require Seo Jin-ae to be oblivious as well. That seems unlikely. At that point, you may as well argue that the Thargoids are attacking because the sentient rocks on Raxxla told them it'd be really funny to, or that they're trying to force humanity to build the Clipper Mk2 for me. I'd give it some thought if there was a single piece of evidence in favour of it.
