DLC18 discussion and predictions

Everyone kind of ignoring the word Impala is also in there. Was that world confirmed to refer to something from Planet Coaster? Because if not is as specific as hamadryas and goodfellow and we should consider the Impala as likely as those two.
Me seeing the Impala be the clone animal instead of a flamingo, monkey, tortoise, pheasant, or literally anything else:

what I wanna see is a pack that makes sense of all the random signs we have

  • king cobra
  • ladybug
  • bumble bee
  • hedgehog
  • squirrel
  • macaw
  • koi
  • seagull
  • sperm whale
  • gecko
  • dodo

This would make a lot of sense for the Jan 2024 additions as a whole. Just checked and the very least, mammoths are mentioned in the Indian Elephant's Zoopedia entry, while lemmings are mentioned in the Arctic fox's.
I found the impala it was in the nyalas entry. Also i dont know how i missed lemming in the arctic foxes entry its not on my list of animals found in the zoopedia ill have to check the game later just curious you looking at the english version right?

Seeing it like this does definitely reduce the chance of any one of these guys making it into game, not gonna give up on a duck yet. Though I will say it does make me wonder what chances any of these “mentioned in name only” animals have.

It also makes good fellows, hamadryas, and secretary even more obvious.

Alongside echidna. Dunno why people are ignoring that one as well, as I doubt it's solely the result of the soundtrack.

Good point, I wonder if it’s under any Australian animals?

Part of me is curious to see if any new words will be added, or at this point will animals only come from pre-existing words in the dictionary?

Just checked every Australian animal added to the roster after the Europe Pack, it's not even mentioned in the platypus entry.

So either it's because of that dang old soundtrack, or I can have some glimmer of hope for my bois.

Actually, I highly doubt it's the soundtrack, since Echidna Round is a song from the original album. In 2019. I'd put it on the same level as Goodfellow's, Hamadryas and secretary for the moment. Mamba is probably a safe bet too tbh. Boom, that's like 5 of at least 7. If this ends up leading anywhere.

I stopped hoping for any specific animals a few weeks ago and because of all of you I'm starting to dream again :') If Tree Kangaroo, Hamadryas Baboon, Secretary Bird and Echidna are on the speculation list, then I'm hoping for a very good pack overall and I'm expecting the Walrus to come too... and Palla's cat... and one NW monkey :| I'm leaving on this note otherwise I will take all of this too seriously (maybe it's too late already).

There's words in the titles of the soundtrack that aren't listed in the Dictionary, so I wouldn't think it the reason:
  • Parkie's Pieces (most people names aren't included)
  • Four-Legged Favourite (Leg exists)
  • Jeux Doe
  • Buffalo Odyssey
  • Ursidae Joy (to be fair I don't think this song is used in game, it's also not English)
  • Hippo Campus
  • Pangolin Waltz
  • The Tail That Wags the Big Dog
  • Elephant Memories (Memory exists)
  • You, Me & Other Animals (Reprise) [Another track I don't think is used in the game, maybe it's the loading screen transition]

All I'm hearing is potentially good news for the echidna.

There definetly is a medusa animatronic in the mythology theme, so there is a chance echidna might refer to that
You'd expect things like Hydra, Minotaur, Medusa, or gods like Zeus, Poseidon, Aries, even Roman counterparts like Jupiter, Mars and Venus, none of that seems to be listed in the dictionary, so one obscure god/creature is pretty out there.
