Hi :)

You can loot them from some convoy's (heavily protected) or there is a crashed T9 with a couple tons scattered at LHS 2429 1st planet

Thanks for that bit of information!

I've just got back to the bubble after a lengthy spell out exploring. I stopped off at LHS 2429 and grabbed a few canisters of Hafnium 178 off the planet. :) (just in case there are any future missions based around this element ;) )

Jack :)

Not just you, it is a weakness of the FdL. I try to engage with a bit more range as that reduces the angle, also keeping the target more on the nose of the ship rather than the centre of the HUD and if jousting try to pass above the target though that does shut down some of the other weapons.

The nice thing about its sister ship the Mamba is all the weapons are on the top, though if you have the green weapons colour and a huge beam laser prepare to be dazzled.
Hmm. Feel like I should have a word with the engineers at Zorgon Peterson. It wouldn't be so bad if the nose didn't also obscure the view below. Unless they intentionally designed it that way. It's a beautiful ship, so it feels like a case of form over function.

Not quite, in fact you could spend all that on an Imperial Cutter.

How about an Orca? Similar to your Dolphin but faster with smoother engines and a joy to fly as long as you don’t want to scoop stuff.
I was thinking about venturing into the realm of large ships, though there still are some small and medium sized ones left.
To be honest, right now, I have no idea what to do with a big honking ship, besides of owning it.

Carrying stuff in a T9 is fun in the same way steering a cow is. Always more motivating with CG bonuses. Escaping interdiction by NPCs in a T9 is possible, but hard enough to draw the adrenaline. That makes it fun. I think there are other escape strategies with mines and boosts too.

Large ships like the other classes in ED are a mixed bag to me some are overrated others are good but I don’t enjoy some I enjoy way more than I thought I would.

The Orca is a little lacking in capacity but is better since they got rid of passenger only slots, I have used one for mining, it was the ship I unlocked Prof Palin in so it jumps well. I used one for a Rares CG where they wanted booze and another where some of the stuff was also illicit cargo at some of the stations so it makes a good smuggling ship in the you can’t scan me I am too fast category though it can be built to cool run.

The rum runner I am now using to gather materials from dead Titans, the build is on EDSY as Coriolis doesn’t have all the modules.

So once you know how to make the cow dance, you're golden.

Interesting.

I'm not that much of a trader/smuggler/miner/collective taxi driver, though.
Most of the missions I take on require the possibility to be able to land on outposts. Which usually don't sport large size pads.

Be aware the interdiction dance can be strenuous in the T9.

My advantage here is I almost never do missions, but yes a large ship would lock you out of those though the capacity of the Orca is low enough that you could switch to a Python 1 if needed.

Is there a good guide for gathering dead titan crap? I am total AX noob
It is not unlike gathering stuff from a very large HGE you just need to be equipped to hide/run from the occaisional remaining Thargoids so something that runs cold but is fast. It should have Caustic sink launchers as there is still cloud around and corrosion resistant cargo racks for if you want to grab more than Mats.

You need very little AX knowledge, just try to stay away from red radar targets and amble around at less than 20% heat to help them ignore you.

I think Zorgon-Peterson really hit their stride with the Hauler. But I'm giving MAMBO a go!

How do I find the stuff to gather? Is it like a HGE where I have to scan the system to find a signal?

20% heat? So heatsinks and/or a G5 clean drive?
