DLC18 discussion and predictions

As i said, the problem with this pack is the fact it's the last one and we aren't receiving some animals that were very high in my personal list, aka SA animals, or received those instead of similar animals, like the sifaka or the markhor.

If this pack wasn't the last one or if those animals had come from other packs (hamadryas on arid, for example), than sure, they are fine, but in the final pack? Without more SA or more important animals? Doesn't sound as interesting to me.
Markhor, even if it wasn't in this pack is pretty necessary for a Zoo Game, its widely iconic and a pretty known Caprine which is also going to bring a ton of good builds with its habitat probably being near Snow Leopard/Takin Habitat Builds.

Sifaka, I could see as its more of a personal niche for me and I really love those guys. I wasn't expecting them but I will open my arms for them as long as we get there Walking Animation done correctly.

I'm sorry but there's no such thing as "Important" animals. All Zoo Animals deserve to join this game unless its a blatantly copy and paste animal like that Dama Gazelle that haunts my nightmares where the Grey Crowned Crane should have been in. "Without more SA or more likeable animals for me"

For me it's something like Spider Monkey > White Nosed Coati > Howler Monkey > South American Coati, but they are all really, really close.

Would need two monkeys, or coati and monkey to be satisfied

unless its a blatantly copy and paste animal
That is still an entirely subjective opinion with no basis in reality. What does it even mean?

Is the grizzly bear a copy/paste of the Himalayan brown bear, or vice versa? Which of the two tigers is the 'original'?

This sort of discussion concerns me because all I can imagine is that PZ2 will come out with far less variety in its roster because everyone keeps whinging about 'clones' and 'copy-paste' and 'reskins' or whatever.

No, but the Himalayan Brown Bear taking a slot in the roster when we could have either had the American Black Bear or Spectacled is pretty painful, There's a clear difference and fine line. Dama Gazelle brought zero variety to the roster and was just there to be there, Black Rhinoceros did. If your looking for an Asian Bear call up the Moon Bear/Sloth Bear which imo is way more better.

Wisent brings more diversity and brings a European bison which is not a copy and should have came, Cuvier's Dwarf brings some type of diversity but not that much with the only argument why it was "good" is because it's a nocturnal reptile. American flamingo is completely fine.

Ok so you're fine with a Grey Wolf when there's a Timber Wolf when Grey wolf is a Timber Wolf but that's fine in your sense, or Great Spotted Kiwi would bring "Diversity" when its just a Kiwi with a different color. Maybe throw in the Gray Kangaroo.

New World
  1. White-nosed Coati
  2. Musk Ox
  3. Howler Monkey
  4. Greater Rhea
  5. Patagonian Mara
  6. Wild Turkey
  7. Wapiti
For number 1: I prefer South American Coati, but the modders could do with that model.
5: YESSS please
7. Oh yeah <3

Only these three would make the speculated pack already so much better for me. But really have nothing from SA as a last pack... that hurts.
Also sad for my walrus, though - other than the Coati - I never really expected it. No Coati is kind of a shock. No Howler monkey (assumingly) is sadly no surprise with how Frontier seemed to have decided to not pay much for soundwork anymore in the packs. On that last sentence I REALLY hope they get their act together again for a PZ2, because they USED to do awesome sound work and I simply don't want to miss it.

While yes, it have it niche, i would much prefer have the blackbuck with is a lot more versatile and relevant for a zoo scenery

While sifakas are my favorite lemurs, i really cannot express the feeling of knowing that i could have finally got a tamarin, a spider monkey or a howler, but instead we got a 4th lemur
Important to who?
To me.

I thought that was very obvious
