DLC18 discussion and predictions

Okay high hopium moment, if planet zoo would get 4 more dlc, each of them bringing a new primate and bird, with the animal packs also bringing a reptile, what themes and animals would you choose?
Il play

New world
1. Rhea
2. Red howler monkey
3. Green sea turtle

Old world
1. Shoebill
2. Gray langur
3. African spurred tortoise

Zoo keepers collection (theme would be more behind the scenes stuff, similar to what conservation gave us but more mechanical and facility like stuff)
1. Muscovy duck
2. Hamadryas

World fair. A world fair expo theme to it, got the idea from the worlds fair in anno1800
1. Gelada
2. Occeloted Turkey

I don't hate the Sifaka. Actually if they do their locomotion justice it will be very cool to.have. what i hate is that there was no reason to go for it and not a NWM other than just because is what Frontier team likes/wants.

Unless we are in a situation similar to the Eurasia pack when we thought it was the wisent instead of the takin and we ended up getting both. Or the pigs situation, where we were fighting boar vs peccary vs river hog and we got all three.

Although a pack with three primates is something really unlikely for Frontier to do.

Arctic: snow goose
South America: Rhea
Australia: Perentie
Aquatic: Green sea turtle
Southeast Asia: Goodfellow tree kangaroo
Africa: spurred tortoise
North America: wapiti
Europe Pack: European Hare
Wetlands: Shoebill
Conservation: Red Wolf
Twilight: American Black Bear
Grasslands: Secretary Bird
Tropical: Red Howler Monkey
Arid: Hamadryas Baboon
Oceania: Southern fur seal
Eurasia: Golden Jackal
Barnyard: cottontail rabbit

My gut does tell me it might be a 12-animal pack with the missing ones being something like: Howler Monkey, Spectacled Bear, American Flamingo & Exhibit animal. I don't think it's too copium to be true :p and it would kinda solve the main problems people have with +3 south american animals, +1 primate & +1 bird.

A pack with 2 primates, a bird and a reptile (maybe 2 with the exhibit) is also something very unlikely for Frontier to do.
That's why i think a third primate in a larger pack is extremely unlikely so the chances of a NWM are next to 0 i'm afraid.

Ugh like it does solve it and not at the same time for me. The flamingo would be such an underwhelming pick for me when the rhea is right there but is probably more plausible than the rhea
Also i rather get anything other than the spec bears for SA but i can't say it isn't requested. Is just that for.me doesn't really fix the SA rep in the game. Is found in very specific región in a specific biome and not as common as other options. But i get is the most likely scenario. 🥲

Well I have some quizzes tomorrow, so hopefully we get some news in the morning. That’s where we will see my feelings about the upcoming dlc, which could be anywhere on the following chart:

Also I saw this on my Twitter, perhaps it’s a sign?

I am really excited for Sifaka, but why... They have to add its striking scream audio, a walking animation and jumping animation while also an arboreal animation. I just feel like Frontier just has something against SA or they wont make Sifaka to its full irl self and leave some huge major things behind

Counter point: we have 3 lemurs against 1 new world monkey, and most new world monkeys are very different in body shape from each other compared to lemurs (aye-aye is the exception).
Thats not even remotly true though.
Yes the 3 lemures we have in game are very similar to each other, but lemures in general are very diverse.
Their are 5 famillys of lemures and all 3 of our lemures are from the family lemuridae, which include all the "standard" katta shaped lemures and bamboo lemures.
But the other 4, aye-ayes, indriidaes which include the indri and the sifakas, sportive lemures which despite the name look like a mix of bushbaby and lori and lastly Cheirogaleidae, the family of mouse lemures and other dwarf lemures which are more akin to arboreal mouses then most other primates.

Getting a sifaka would literally be just as much a boost to primate diversity as getting a member of any new family would be.
Funfact! There are also exactly 5 familys of new world monkeys, Callitrichidae (Marmosets and Tamarins), Cepidae (Capuchins and spiders), Aotidae (night monkeys), Pitheciidae (sakis, and uakaris) and lastly Atelidae (Spider, Howler, Wooly).

So yeah just going by taxonomic level the sifaka is just as distinct as a spider or tamarin would be and going by body type they might be the most unique primate we could get besides the aye-aye, so a lack of new diversity really isnt any reasonable criticque

Oh bushbaby is actually an interesting animal to bring up as that probably the only animal that you can mod out of the sifaka, besides the other sifaka species ofc

Mostly selfish idea as well:
  • Short-beaked Echidna (Deluxe)
  • Musk Ox (Arctic)
  • Patagonian Mara (South America)
  • Perentie (Australia)
  • Harbor Seal (Aquatic)
  • Greater Malayan Chevrotain (Southeast Asia)
  • Grey-crowned Crane (Africa)
  • Wapiti (North America)
  • European Hedgehog (Europe)
  • Sandhill Crane (Wetlands)
  • Sumatran Tiger (Conservation)
  • Greater Galago (Twilight)
  • Nilgai (Grasslands)
  • Black Howler Monkey (Tropical)
  • Arabian Oryx (Arid)
  • Common Brushtail Possum (Oceania)
  • Pallas' Cat (Eurasia)
  • Ankole Watusi (Barnyard)
Oh my… I would lose my mind! This is the pack for me. I’d only add the coati instead of Mara.
