DLC18 discussion and predictions

So what are we thinking for the update, I will start first
  • All base game habitat animals (as well as a few exhibit animals to) get signs in the modern style

  • Peafowl Color Morphs
  • A new plant or two
  • And the theme maker tool kit

I might also mentally prepare yourself for the Unlocked to be where any news happens… With no reveals before.

(This is me trying to will a trailer into existence through reverse psychology with the universe.)
Iqa updated, stream annoucement with big news for planet zoo for...

nothing, its just a console bundle annoucement and another soundtrack dlc to buy.

Personally this is what I'm expecting in terms of update:

  1. No Thememakers-Toolkit. There's no incentive for Frontier to make one, even more now that console support isn't something that came after the facts.
  2. The scenario editor being the main focus of the update. It fits a late-stage game update, as it is a dev-tool made publicly, so whilst it is a big feature, it's one that has existed in house for quite a while.
  3. Some more foliage pieces.
What I'm hoping they'll add:
  1. Signs for all animals ingame.
  2. Some small scenery pieces that are useful and extent the lifespan of the DLC
I'm not expecting a huge update really, at this point in time I think the majority of the resources are going towards PC2, JWE3 and the console port.

Wouldn't adding all the signs be plenty of work?

I would love to see that, but always imagined that it's never coming due to how many animals they'd need to cover

Not what i expect, but what i would like to see
-Null exhibits
-Option to turn off the hitbox of pieces
-General purpose scenery pieces, like sand, dirt, etc version of the mulch pieces and a small font set

I would love any remasters they are willing to give us, as well as behavioural updates for some animals like arctic fox burrowing and monitors climbing

Hence why it's in my hoping for list 😂

If they allocated some of the budget to it during the time they were porting stuff to console, as I assume those artists wouldn't be working on the porting, they might be able to do so; but it's still more of a hoping for than anything else.

I almost don't dare to say it, but it still would be a lot of work for the artist (we got a TON of animals by now) and presumably cost for Frontier, so the only way I really could see ALL animals get those signs is with AI. And I really don't know if I want to go there...

But yeah, having those signs would be nice. I gave up hope for my beloved Professor Wurst food stall.
