DLC18 discussion and predictions

I know it’s an impossible dream, I know it… but I’m praying for the Gelada as well as the Hamadryas. For a mountains pack, it makes so much sense!

A roster like this:
• Pallas Cat
• Markhor
• Hamadryas Baboon
• Gelada
• Alpine Marmot
• Spectacled Bear
• Yak

Could be a good and varied roster

The real question is, do cobras or chameleons live in highlands?
Some chameleon species do.

Hey, maybe we will finally get a bird in the WTE and it’s the thick billed parrot? They live in higher altitudes.

Even though it would instantly make it the best pack ever for me, I highly doubt we would get the gelada and Hamadryas in the same pack. But hey we got wisent and takin in the same pack so

Do you think she meant it’s coming in the next few weeks? They showed off some stuff it’s normal for them to then announce it relatively soon? I guess that could just mean next Monday.
Hopefully

Some Chameleons do, but if we're getting Barnyard style pack, then no exhibit animals this time either

I live in a happy little world where Frontier isn’t saving birds and South America for a sequel. I love being delusional!
I hope we get the Monal, Rhea and Spectacled Bear in this pack, just for a little bit of bird and SA love, but I think we'll be lucky to get one which is unfortunate

This is the first pack that I really consider to be unnecessary and 100% skippable, but again I got nothing to do so here I am.
Consider yourself lucky. I found both Twilight and Eurasia to be 100% skippable.
We all eventually see some packs that we just don't care about...but I'd say wait until we see what the whole roster is before making a decision.

Ok I realised.
The marmot isn't the problem.
It's the pack's theme.
Mountains are just... kind of boring as a whole. They're not very varied in terms of wildlife, and there are only so many unique animals you can have in a mountain pack without inevitably running into another clone.
A yak? That's just another cow
A Markhor? As much as I love this animal, it's our 3rd goat
A spectacled bear? It's just another bear which we have plenty of already.
A marmot? It's just the most boring parts of a beaver and prairie dog combined.

But really, what other options do we have? More goats? More sheep? Another feline? There isn't any unique animal type that we don't have already (aside from the baboon that we're getting here) so these are our very limited and boring options.

I'm really excited by what we saw today and I'm looking forward to discover what is the theme of this DLC. Some people aren't happy with it and beside the fact that it doesn't cover up SA (for the moment), I don't really know why. Markhor might be an ungulate but A LOT of people asked for it. We're also getting a baboon that was very high on the wishlist. As for the Palla's cat, I was stzrting to doubt if we would have it but guys... it is a very popular species on social media. I would have been way more surprised if the game ended withtout the angry cat. For the moment I'm in love with this DLC.

I also think this is not the last one and we could have 2 more DLCs. Now I want to bring back something that someone said 5 months ago. Someone pointed out that 1 year and a half / 2 years ago a lot of people were asking for more European and Asian species as well as a farm DLC. We got them. The same person also said that at the time a lot of people were already talking of a Mountain and a Latin America pack. What if Frontier took not of all of this and are working hard to follow our requests? Pure speculation of course.

Anyway, I'm confident we could still have a bit more of PZ content in the coming months. I'm just scared we will now have to wait for a long time for each new DLC and that people will become crazy.

I’m gonna try to stay hopeful, we still got another 4+ slots for cool animals open!

Either way though, I’m busy with school so I can’t commit to Planet Zoo much right now. I was building an Amazon Rainforest tropical house. I got to say with the news of the new pack (someone on Reddit seemed to have suggest the building theme was Himilayan) it kind of kills my drive to keep working on that project.

I don’t know, depending on what’s in this pack and if we have more dlc coming or not. This is probably gonna push me into modding.

I’m really not trying to kill anyone’s hype, but being a bird fan and just knowing my animals are being held for a future sequel isn’t exactly fun. I’m not even talking about flying birds, I just want a duck. I’ll also take anything else.
