Yo, if you've been missing out on the butterflies, you gotta try them out. They're by far the best WE animals in the game
Sure. But just because the theory was right in these 2 cases doesn't mean it will be next time...which is kinda my main point.
And there was at least one more animal that they just removed along with those 2, and we have no clue if it will be in this pack.
It's just not a reliable source because we don't have any knowledge whatsoever regarding why these words were added/removed. It's complete speculation.
But there's nothing else to do but speculation, no one is taking Dictionary as a Bible, but there's no way of doing speculation pretending we didn't see those words.

So lets look back at our options:
- Highlands/Mountains (All 3 animals fit)
- Celebration/Anniversary (All 3 fit although strange that the Pallas cat is the headliner if this is the case imo)
- Old World (All 3 fit but idk doesn't seem likely)
- Asia (2 fit, Hamadryas baboon is iffy)
To be fair, there's definitely some people taking it as confirmation. The reality is... All it means is that the species were considered for inclusion at one point or another. So with all of the species names added it's going to be correct some of the time (but is also potentially going to be misleading as there's clearly animals that may have been "cut" in there). It's also definitely not a signal that an animal won't wind up in the game, either... At this point it all kinda means nothing, I think.
The weirdest thing for me is that they went ahead and removed most of the new animal terms... But then kept the two related to the most highly requested species. The ones that content creators have referenced, that caused the most chatter in the forum, etc. It seems just as odd to keep terms that are potential "spoilers" as it is to keep terms that have zero in-game use.
I'm more and more leaning to option two (hearing all the arguments today), but I'll repeat myself, if that's the case, terrible choice of cover artSo lets look back at our options:

I'm feeling that Planet Zoo will build up a 12 animal pack through socials with Images of Animals. It looks like a Celebration Party pack so I'm guessing this is the Highlands/Mountains area of the pack with 9 animals left that will probably revealed with something similar like this. 3 in each photo.

For me that's the strongest factor for believing that those animals can't be anything else but future inclusions, second strongest is when they were added to dictionary.
Of course, it's not end all-be all and definite confirmation of what we will and won't get, but I really can't agree when people say that it means basically nothing or that it's not worth discussing.
And for the record, I'm not particularly crazy for any of the dictionary animals (that includes any type of Tree Kangaroo) so I'm not "defending" them because I want to see them in game, but all the arguments piled up seem so logical to me

Took me two whole days to accept the idea of a mountain pack and now that I do want one it turns out that it might be an anniversary pack...

Yeah switched from Mountain but after closer look it's release same day with Anniversary Update. Its an Early Anniversary Celebration pack with all of them being over 50s in the Meta Wishlist expect 2 SO FAR. I'm hoping the last two slots go to Walrus and Coatimundi/New World Monkey and Chameleon.
Here's another option: Adaptations/evolution! Literally any animal could fit. And the three that are featured thus far definitely have adaptations to their environment that make them interesting... Though the Pallas cat remains a weird headliner for that option too. Hah.So lets look back at our options:

I'm not fully sold on the "celebration" idea, though I see why people are speculating it. Especially given the scenery in the image. I definitely agree that it's not very highlands-y after sitting with it for a bit. And TBH, I wish I believed in it more because it's a fun idea and would really open up the possibilities for the rest of the roster...
But I'm still really feeling like what was said during the stream is being misinterpreted. Like, I don't at all believe they're bumping up the anniversary update because it ties into the DLC. To me, it's pretty clear that they're just trying to get around saying that: (a) they don't want to release anything for Planet Zoo the same week as Planet Coaster 2, and (b) that we're getting one update in the fall instead of the usual DLC update plus the anniversary update. It's a pretty clever, smart move on their part because the community reaction has been overwhelmingly positive.
Then again, maybe they're doubling down and have put together a pack that really does have a celebration theme! Both things can be true. Haha. They could be positioning the pack in that way for the reasons above. That would be doubly clever, TBH. So now I kinda hope that's the theme? LOL
Either way: When the DLC and the update drop? It'll be a party!
Theres some people who haven't had the news reached to them yet. People who play the game on steam but don't check Socials. Can't believe they can wait for so long without no news..
I think what throws it all out of whack is the fact that some names were deleted and are now clearly in the pack (including Hamadryas--which was added the same time as those two)! That's the one reason I have any doubt about those two. But the lack of deletion could also just have been an error. So... Who knows?
I think I'm just trying to temper my own expectations and accept that the tree kangaroo might not be coming because I am crazy for them and I'm tired of huffing copium.
I see most ended up coming into terms with the idea of a non exclusively highlands oriented pack and noticed the zookeeper there and made a big deal of it, as it actually feels ominous for our future. Anyway those can't be Tibetan flags by any chance, feels rather insulting not to get them right. The tent though, that's so random and new to me.
I only cared about the baboon initially in a potential mountain pack, but if a chameleon, the yak and the monal could make it in then I really would be in favor of this pack, with a dream lineup like this below.

Funny that what I originally suggested doesn't convince me anymore, as it would become a farewell after all. However, if we think about the console rollout dates, this would need to be our last pack.
