I agree that having one duck would be pretty weird, but that is all the more reason why i want one, so the modders can do like just all of them.
Like the swan already did wonders for brightening the future after support ends by delivering a waterfowl rig, and for swans and geese mods it works perfectly.
Pelicans and ducks are fine on the swan but both have a little thing that annyos me a little, the pelicans ofcourse have a static beak, and while movement whise the swan works perfectly for a pelican, ducks just look a little off when they walk around with the weight and heft of the swan. Both of these arent dealbreakers by any means for me and i would be happy to use these in the unfortunately rather likely case than we dont get official ones, but i rather have a perfect base for two animals that i would probably use in just about any project i would do in PZ

My point wasn't that no one can take the dictionary entries seriously. I'm saying I don't find it compelling, and I'm not the only one.
You wanna speculate on it? Go for it. I'm totally cool with that. I sat through about 80 pages of it here on this thread before the DLC was teased and never said a word lol.
I'm now leaning towards the idea that this is a "Celebration DLC" or even a "Party DLC"

Currently what we know:
- Releases same day on Early Anniversary Update
- All Animals so far revealed are super high in the meta wishlist meaning this pack will have a ton of high listings.
- So far the theme is party/festival themed
This would be such a strange way to do a final pack, wouldn’t it? What are we partying about, the end of the game? Why are we doing presumably a fan favorites pack with, like, the 14th and 21st most popular animals instead of going straight down the wishlist? Why would the animals revealed be the most mountainous ones on pretty mountain-looking scenery instead of random animals?
Fans were begging for a teaser, they gave us Palla's Cat, Markhor and Hamadrya's Baboon reveal. I'm feeling like there is gonna be parts to bring one whole pack. Probably gonna check the socials.
Im guessing this pack is 12 animals and we have 3/12 animals so far.
What I thought earlier is that they would do mutiple teasers until pack release like a African Savannah Poster Teaser similar to this one with Secretary Bird, African Spurred Tortoise and the Kirk's Dik-Dik that were all leaked on dictionary.
You are the only one touting this “multi-part each part has a little mini theme” theory.
Is that weird? No, PC1 ended with almost no warning. Also... mountain animals... Hamadryas baboons and Pallas's cat are not typical mountain animals.
Well yes, I am and I am theorizing. Theories won't get you so far and this theory may seem a little obscure but given with the piece of evidence I'm planning for mutiple outcomes.

- Anniversary/Celebration Pack [Most Obvious one]
I'm sorry but this is THE final pack, 5 years of the game lasting. A final "big" animal as the anniversary which I would prefer the Rhea more.
I’m not saying this isn’t the last pack, I’m just saying this isn’t some kind of “celebration pack” or “keeper’s choice” or similar. Also, yes, both of those animals are totally mountainous.

While I would agree that one duck wouldn’t be great (how many zoos just keep one duck?) with the right species one single duck can make a huge difference! Namely in building mixed species habitats or in tropical houses. I have built some tropical houses in PZ, and I got to be honest they really aren’t the same without some birds. While we do have the mute swan for the “generic pond filler animal” we also don’t really have anything good for tropical houses/ better mixed species habitats. Which is why I champion for whistling ducks so much! They fill all those roles, and each one is cute
I’ve made my point many times, and I stand by it 100%. I would personally get way more use out of the white faced whistling duck, fulvous whistling duck, or black belly whistling duck than a good amount of species Frontier would possibly add.
You must realize that all these animals aren't odd choices like before. Palla's Cat, Hamadrya's Baboon, and Markhor have been asked for years. This is not a Highlands or Mountain's theme. This is the final pack where they probably are going to make it a Celebration or Final Goodbye until Planet Zoo 2, I don't know what the title should be.
All we know is so far that we had these animal's "leaked" in dictionary so make your decision or choice. Though this is pure speculation but the fact that markhor and Hamadrya's who were previously leaked through Dictionary and was removed a day before this DLC announcement is VERY strange

Whats weird to me is why choose the Pallas Cat to headline an anniversary pack? Like everything else makes sense about this idea but why the Pallas Cat? Yes it should be included in the pack but was there not a better candidate to represent the pack than another cat? Like it just seems like a super weird pick to show the "celebration" of the game ending pack. The lynx already exists as the headliner of the Europe pack, would this not cause some confusion too? Anyway I'm fully onboard with a finale anniversary pack but the Pallas cat headlining it just seems super weird to me.
I'm sorry, but if the keyart is poor for a mountains DLC, it's even worse for any kind of celebration or anniversary pack lol. It has flags and the vague shape of a tent, that's all that hints towards that theme.
This whole discussion makes me wonder how we'd pick apart the keyart of other packs if they were used as teasers.

It is weird, but I don't care about who covers and more whos the animal.
Anyway, I'm thinking all the Dictionary animals will be in the pack with Palla's Cat and 3 unknown animals that 2 are habitat and one exhibit.
