DLC18 discussion and predictions

So you're telling me Frontier is using the released picture as their cover art, it features three highland animals, yet it's supposed to be promoting a zookeeper collection pack with animals from many biomes... If this is true, Frontier blew it because it makes no sense from a marketing perspective. Out of the three animals featured prominently, only the baboon would qualify as an iconic animal in a zookeeper collection pack and we can't even see them all that clearly. The Pallas Cat would not be the headliner for a zookeeper pack. All signs point to a Highlands pack; it doesn't really make sense any other way.
Out of the 3 species, it is only really the Markhor that is strictly a mountain species. The cat and baboon are also found in other types of habitats. Highland is such a broad theme that a lot could fit under it. Even if this isn't a highland pack (which I no longer think it is), there is still a good chance most of the animals would fit under this theme as well, making it hard to pick animals for the key-art that couldn't fit this theme.

Seems weird if they would do a mountain this undetailed now.
For other animal packs, the stuff in the back does seem to speak into the theme of the pack or be items actually in the pack:
Certainly doesn't really match the expected heavy leaning into theming.

If they're new items, why aren't they more specific to mountains, like proper prayer flags.

If they're all base game items, why are they even there, when it's not a Human centric theme (the buntings from Indian, the Lanterns from East Asia, the Tent from Africa, the feeder, the tap?, the zookeeper)?

That said, given the amount of time we've been given to speculate, it's potentially been made with the intention of steering away from what it is, without lying, so potentially nobody is correct.

Shouldn't we avoid comparing it to JWE2 as it is a franchise game with Universal, that was quickly rushed and ended for the upcoming movie?
There are potential similarities, like a controversial Q1 DLC, followed by teasing the next pack decently ahead of an announcement.

Oh boy would that be dissapointing if the other 4 extra animals we get are exhibit box animals lol
I agree and disagree, honestly I like the exhibit boxes but it depends on what we get.
  1. Birds in the WTE? Heck yeah
  2. Fish? Heck yeah
But otherwise I agree, if it’s just “more of the same” not my thing.

Frontier, please do not listen to these suggestions and give us 5 2d animals or 4 random insects
My thinking was that there'd be 3 exhibit snakes (python, mamba, cobra - all from the dictionary), the Lord Howe stick insect, and the spurred tortoise as our 1 walkthrough exhibit animal (controversial prediction, I'm well aware)

If frontier had to do it this way, they would probably put an Anaconda in the WTE
What a nice exhibit. Hey, where'd Jimmy go?

At least those two are
Just like how they made Giant Anteater allowed in walkthrough habitats or the Saiga
I suspect the anteater was an oversight of carrying over parameters from the aardvark/pangolin, while saigas aren't exactly dangerous even with the male's horns.
Meanwhile, guests will still flee in terror from domesticated camels...

Honestly exhibit animals have been so shafted throughout the game's lifespan that they almost deserve it lol.
As much as i personally like them at the end of the day there aren't much more than glorified animatronics so yeah i prefer 4 more habitat animals even if straight up clones. The last pack is not the place to make up for how much the exhibit animals have been pushed aside.

If Saiga gets spooked out [VERY EASY FOR THIS TO HAPPEN]

They run towards the nearest wall and commit suicide due to stress exploding their head into the wall.

That would be why saigas aren't interactive animals. Walkthrough habitat animals are essentially asking, "should guests be afraid of this animal?". I don't see a word where the average zoo guest is scared of a small gazelle with a funny nose.
No like, even the smallest movement of a Zoo Guest can spook the Saiga into killing itself, hense why no one keeps them expect like two zoos
