A story that sticks in my mind from chatting with a 'griefer' about motivation was a Police Officer who spent their days helping victims & found shooting newbies cathartic. Who are we to argue their motivation?

As an afterthought: I think you just justified crappy behavior (i.e. not caring about other player's grief you cause) as okay as long as it's therapeutic....

I'll trade you that for sitting off Hutton waiting your turn to dock and unload materials in the early CGs there while Code and SDC members dove in to either pirate or kill.

Weirdly, only time I ever really experienced pad blocking like that was during that CG where many posited we were competing to decide whether Arissa or Aisling would take the throne

I can remember the Azimuth megaship prior to Cornsar with one of my sqns players sitting in a cutter on it telling us to get over there whilst oblivious to half a dozen of the sqdrn flashing their lights at him!

Exactly why I stopped playing in the Mobus group when I want to achieve anything in a session.
Far too many times I've been unable to dock due to an overly busy system with AFK people blocking pads.

It makes me laugh when folk mention the open PvP groups and know full well that some of those groups have in the past quite happily played in PG and Solo. Hence my belief that as noone can prove that some are in solo Pg or open we rely on their honesty and we all know where that leads?

It's even funnier when you see someone complain about griefing in Open, and these folk will jump on the comment saying "Go play Solo", then when people do go and play Solo, the same people complain about others being in Solo and demand everyone be forced into Open.

At this point in time, the only way Frontier is ever going to stop this nonsense is to add Open PvE to the game, so people can play together without the issues Open PvP brings or just remove Open as an option altogether. Make everyone play in their own communities or Solo.

Undock in a hauler, start flying, another player appears, "hi other human, I'm hauling, want to come along and get free wing credits for swatting NPCs off me?"

No answer, my ship blows up. Rebuy, start again.

It's dull, it's boring, it's antisocial.

WOW shutdown all of their PvP servers and made PvP a toggle switch you throw while in a major city area.
My main character was on a PvP server (Vashj). And I rarely see anyone walking around with the PvP toggle on.
I went pet farming with my alt hunter last month with my PvP toggle on, and no one engaged at all.

Now it's the arenas and battlegrounds for PvP, getting any in the wild is very rare. The core PvP vocals are not happy.
They'd been shouting for all the PvE servers to be converted (same as here) and got the PvP servers converted to PvE.

Despite the fact I enjoy willfully playing PvP, I did laugh and laugh and laugh when Blizzard announced the change.
And should Frontier decide on an Open PvE mode / Server - I'll laugh and laugh and laugh again.
