DLC18 discussion and predictions

Another nice addition to add before the end would be just a bunch of random plants, especially tropical plants exclusive to one or two continents, because how many times have you reused the same darn plants for a tropical section and they all end up looking pretty samey?
We need more medium sized bushes, and more small trees, the current ones are huge. Also more variety in reeds and bamboo.

Taxidermy memorials could be neat ngl.
Depending on how they implemented it. I feel like it could be respectful and/or educational way to honor past favorites of your zoo OR just depressing.
That kind of reminds me when I played ZT2 I made a canid zoo (I had dozens and dozens of mods) and my favorite dhole passed away. I wanted to make a statue of him but alas ZT2 was even more limited in what you could build... How would people feel about statue memorials?

Same but with tempetate plants. I was disappointed we didn't get more foliage with Eurasia or Barnyard. I need orchard trees and flowering bushes.

I'd also love some more shops, especially healthier food shops. I'd like a salad bar, sushi counter and noodle/sandwich shop. I think drinks and gifts are fine as they are actually. I just hate serving beef burgers next to my bovines 😂
Yeah more regional foliage variety is needed!

For food shops are needed for sure. And while we do have an ice cream shop, we need something like dippin' dots, as the only places i see that have them anymore are zoos, so for me it feels like a zoo food staple, maybe along with fruity smoothie alcoholic drinks for tired adults with loud children....

I want more fake branches, vines, tree limbs, etc.

Also, must I mention more educational stuff? I haven’t uploaded in my thread in awhile, but I really can’t just explain how much some more educational tools can go to fills walls, habitats, etc.
And actual prop signs that are just simple enough to be used anywhere, like the signs you see on the workshop. Imagine having a variety of those that aren't made out of 50 pieces each, it would save some fps for sure

Totally. I just want variety. Heck, bring us the Tiki Chikki from PlanCo. I'd love to serve more ethnic foods, like churros and bratwurst. Give us sushi and salad and soups. It's not unrealistic

Might feel odd, but how would taxidermied animals be? I mean, it's educational. I've seen animals in jars at zoos
Oh imagine like paw prints and hand molds of different animals, similar to the giraffe station thing

That's a great point. Like zoos irl have these giant trees in their brand new exhibits? LOL.
I wonder if scaling could fix it? Scaling would be awesome! Do any of the coding members know if scaling is possible in this iteration?
Whenever there is a big tree in a zoo, how often is it actually a fake tree or outside the habitat where the animals can damage it

Regarding aquariums, I want something like the roster of megaquarium with the quality and detail of PZ. If we only get megafauna like the lagoons in JWE2, I wouldn't find much use of it.

For example, check out the megafauna-only roster of ZT2 marine mania (without cetaceans):
  1. Blacktip reef shark
  2. Blue marlin
  3. California sea lion
  4. Goblin shark
  5. Green sea turtle
  6. Leatherback sea turtle
  7. Manta ray
  8. Pacific walrus
  9. Rockhopper penguin
  10. Scalloped hammerheaf
  11. Sea otter
  12. West Indian manatee
  13. Whale shark
  14. White shark
This is more of a seaworld roster than an aquarium roster, and not one I'd be very happy with. Also, half of these don't live in zoos

What I'd REALLY love is a game where you can build a whole range of educational facilities. Then I could make my dream building, the California Academy of Sciences:

It combines a natural history museum, planetarium, underwater aquarium and walkthrough living ecosystem complete with birds, monkeys, insects, reptiles and fish (yes, they eat each other but the populations remain in balance).

It has a living roof, planted with native California grass and wildflower species that are endangered.
It is carbon zero, and built entirely with sustainable materials.

It's basically my church. I pay a visit every time I visit the US.

This is also almost every PZ marine pack wishlist ever. I don't want whale sharks, I want nurse sharks, small octopuses, eels, and small fish. But I would for sure take a rockhopper (one of my mom's favorites)

I still find funny when people say that aquariums should be a exclusive game when this photo was taken at one:

I mean, I'd agree that full aquatics don't need to be in a separate game. But let's not be selective: Zoos with full-blown habitats for fully terrestrial animals are the exception, not the rule. Sometimes you'll wind up with like, parrots or lizards in one section. Maybe box turtles or something. But it's so rare to see a habitat like what you shared.

That would be awesome! Signs with little "gibberish" lines and a single bit toward the top (or bottom) that can have text added to it. Getting a few of those would work wonders.

I've never had any plans to ever really visit California, but now I want to, and good thing this is in the one area I sorta did want to visit

Oh definitely, like we have such limited educational stuff. Anything is useful. I want a good quality signs for a number of different things:
  1. Biomes
  2. Ecosystems
  3. Food Chains
  4. Bats
  5. Insect loss
  6. Anything else not off the top of my head lol

I really hope they expand this in the free update! I’ve mentioned it before, but imagine these education stations:
  1. Jump as far as a kangaroo
  2. Spread your arms like the wings of a bird
  3. Hold your breath against a polar bear or seal
There is so much you can do! We need more than just the 4.
