After saying, "A a new animal pack is coming soon. Stay tuned for more Information!"The thing is, they literally said that it was coming in a couple of weeks. Not more info in a couple of weeks, not at some vague unspecified point in the future. So to go from that to complete silence is just odd, even if they do have a much reduced team.
I agree with everything here. It all boils down to "decision-making." Revealing key art, telling folks to watch the socials, and saying the pack was coming in a "couple of weeks" is all well and good but to then follow it up with a week of silence is pretty bonkers. The community is overreacting a bit, TBH, but it doesn't make it any less odd on Frontier's part. Haha.I can totally understand if any of the things you are stating are true. They are likely understaffed and overworked at times. I don't particularly blame the workers in any way, but the decision making is lacking whether there is one employee churning out every animal or dozens working on every species.
To me it makes no sense to show the keyart in the stream and post the next day that news is coming soon. They built this hype train themselves and the "outrage" (for lack of a better term) is self inflicted. They chose to highlight the keyart and the new pack over a week before another hint would be shared, really before anything is shared at all.
Typically teasers were explained within a day or two, and if we don't get news today it will be 10-14 days of a tease being unanswered. I'd rather have never seen the keyart and kept with the attitude of "'The DLC will come when it comes because they said later this year." I was expecting something but not consistently checking and growing frustrated seeing moo deng as the only news for a whole week.
Personally, I knew something was coming from the announcement of another animal pack later this year. I didn't need the keyart to tell me something was coming. All that did was get me excited enough to check daily for absolute silence in terms of community engagment. For months, I just checked every now and then for news.
I think most would be much less outraged, and much more sane, if Frontier posted that teaser image today as a world animal day celebration and said stay tuned for an announcement and posted the trailer next week (if ready). That gives us a few days for hype and avoids 4-7 days of why is there silence as we quietly grow more frustrated with a lack of communication.
The 22nd is what I'm thinking now. Question is: When will they announce it? If it's a week before it would be on the 15th. If it's a bigger pack with more reveals next week could make sense but... I think most people aren't banking on that at this point. This is purely speculative, but if we got an announcement next Tuesday on the 8th, how are we feeling about a release date on the 22nd? That seems like a reasonable release date to me.
Yep. I've been on the Forums since a bit before the Aquatic DLC was released, and I can remember people complaining about the lack of communication from Frontier even back then. So while I'm also sympathetic that Frontier likely has fewer staff on PZ, and PC2 is clearly a priority, that argument would carry a lot more weight if this was a new thing. It is not even about the announcement anymore for me, it is the lack of any communication that frustrates me. Yeah, their team is probably not as big as it used to be and they have PC2 in addition to spend their time on, but comon, a single post with recycled screenshot does NOT take that much effort. And it can be scheduled in advance…
It isn’t worthy to spend money on frontier anymore. We keep waiting and waiting. So tired. Also, most of the animal models aren’t good enough. Modders make better animal models than frontier. It is ridiculousI don't think $10 is a waste, though. A McDonald's cost $15 and whatnot
