Hey I just realized, if I start using mods I’m not allowed to post or talk about them correct?
I have done so, both talked about them and posted screenshot with modded animals in the What did you do today thread aswell as the zoolympic games.
Mabye id try to always mention that they are mods, so noone gets confuse about animals not in their game, thats what i did and havent had any problems

Ok cool! With your help I’ve looked into some of the mods, I’m starting to make an extensive list myself. I want to get back into playing more if I have free time.

I think modding for the birds I want/ need, is gonna help a lot. Likewise I’m gonna open space on my computer by getting rid of some games.

My plan so far, to push myself into building more, is I’m gonna start just building areas. Forget trying to make a nice entrance, forget trying to make an over the top elaborate food court, I’m done trying to make staff areas look nice. I think by focusing on the animals (the part I like) it will get me back into playing consistently.

I got to be honest I have been very Marveled out for a long time now. Is it any good?
I got Marveled out too, but only because the quality drop became so noticeable and because they started releasing way too much. The focus of a connected universe started to feel absent. It was just them trying to adapt as many properties as they could as fast as they could. Everything started to be mid to outright awful. I’m glad they’ve slowed down because it seems to be working. If you liked WandaVision, you’ll love Agatha All Along. It’s peak MCU for me, especially the final 10 minutes of episode 5. My jaw was on the floor. It’s starting to feel like the MCU is building toward something again.

@RightWhale have you seen this? 💚

I'd love to see some pictures of the habitats :) Especially of the cat enclosures.
Sure thing. Their cat enclosures are not very good I'm afraid, I'll take some pics and you'll see what I mean. They do small animals best. It's a very small wildlife park that used to be a local wildlife hospital. It aint fancy! But it's got heart (and coatis, I mean, what kind of a zoo doesn't have coatis...)

Oh good, I’m happy to see Marvel doing something. I personally consider the last era a flop, so it’s good to see them try again.
oh make no mistake, I saw the beauty in all its radiance.

If Frontier won’t make it for me I’ll take it myself! School is super busy but I was talking with MarvinB about mods, I have a list of 30 something I’m planning on. I haven’t got to play much lately, life is busy!

I mean budget and size doesnt always equal top notch husbandry. San Diego and Pairi Daiza are some examples, big name zoos with alot of money, but they still have some animal husbandry that isnt really good.

Tip from me - download as many as you want, but when you add them to the ovidata folder, go cautiously. Add them one by one or start with the ones that have been recently updated and are made by more experienced modders. If you add them all at once and your game crashes, it's annoying trying to figure out which one is causing the issues. Also, when I add them, I have a test zoo set up in sandbox to try them out first and make sure they don't cause crashes. If your game crashes, don't worry, just remove the mod(s) and start again, one by one. Your saves should be fine but I also do a test anyway just to be safe.

The ones made for versions 1.4 and previous are riskier. I try to only go for mods from 1.15 onwards. Lots are being updated at the moment so always worth checking back in a couple of months for updates that you've been hoping for.

I'm going to Shepreth tomorrow :) :) :) can't wait for the Red Panda talk! Any pics/info anyone wants me to get while I'm there?
I went to Shepreth about a month ago for the first time in ages despite the fact I live 20 minutes away, both species of Coati they have are really cool although I have only ever seen Coatis on one separate occasion, its not the best zoo but it is definitely better than Linton which is also nearby, its a real shame how Linton has become rundown over the years

Oh true, Linton is really sad. Only went once, won't go back. Shepreth is great for such a small local place. You can tell a lot of love goes into it and the keepers really care. I used to volunteer there a long time ago when I was a student.

I would visit so many more places but I don't drive, so am stuck with the places I can get to by train!

I am too young to drive at the moment, so I am limited to train or occasionally convincing my parents to drive somewhere, although they often take me to foreign zoos on holiday like Pairi Daiza, Beauval and Artis
